Music and Manga?

When we read our manga what is our atmosphere do read in silence or do we set the mood by playing some music.

What im tring to get at is what type of music should correspond with music

Manga is pretty easy to read straight up. But I inhale manga when I'm wired to my iPod.

Here are some of my PICKS when reading certain manga:

BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad - Black Keys, Ben Harper, Beck, Beat Crusaders, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, The Hives, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix (you get the idea - IT'S TIME TO ROCK!)
Samurai Champloo - Samurai Champloo Sdtk, A Tribe Called Quest, Blackstar, Talib Qweli, Mos Def, Common, Kanye West, Kill Bill Sdtk - v.1, Prince, Damian Marley

I actually CAN'T read manga while listening to music. I can't do a lot of things while listening to music though. When I was a translator, I used to translate infront of the TV, but couldn't do it while listening to music.
On the other hand, I can do either while creating art.

I can't multi-task, period. TToTT;;
I do like music with art though, because I'm focused on one and not trying to listen and read at the same time.

I don't like listening to music when I'm reading manga, unless it's my Japanese manga and I'm trying to translate. Then music puts me into a calmer mood; otherwise it just distracts me.

Man, for a moment there I thought it was going to be a topic about Music IN Manga, like for instance, The Violinist of Hameln which bases itself around music, everyone in the series is named after a musical term or instrument. That and there is a thing in there called Magical Music... such an awsome series...

But I can watch TV, listen to music, and be anywhere reading manga. I'm not eally affected by anything, unless my parents want to see what it is ~~:;;

I don't really put music to a particular manga series. I just listen to whatever I would normaly, then I read the manga. But it's like I need the music to read because my house is too quite without it and it freaks me out.

I'm almost constantly listening to some music...I just don't really concentrate on just what it is I'm listening to while I'm reading. *shrugs*
