I kind of stumbled upon her when I was looking for some J-Rock music someone had recommended. She isn't J-Rock she's more hip hop/R&B/pop-ish. From what I've heard of her she sounds pretty good. Anyone else know her? What do you think of her?

I like her. One of her songs, Motherland, is one of the endings to Full Metal Alchemist. I first saw her on Pop Japan TV.

If she had unique music to go with her unique looks, I might be more into it. However, so far it seems that her music is just regular pop in the vein of Utada Hikaru; which means she does not appeal to me. She seems to be doing pretty well popularity-wise, so maybe her agency can hire better songwriters and composers or something in the future.

It sounded pretty unique or at least different but maybe it's because I don't know a lot of Japanese music.

I absolutely love Crystal Kay. She is compared to Utada Hikaru a bit because of similar background. The reason why her English is pretty good is because she's Half Korean and Half Black. But, she can't speak Korean very well. I pretty much love Kirakuni, Bye Bye Darling, Hard to say, Happy Life, and Motherland.

CK and Utada are nothing alike in my opinion. Can you imagine Hikki dancing around to "Candy?" xD I'm surprised someone finally made a thread about CK though. I love most of her songs. |

Very well said *applauds* Kuri cannot be compared to Utada at all. Their styles are totally different from each other. On top that, Utada can't dance. (Shall we remember the PV for "Automatic" ) |
