Message Board Guidelines - Please Read First

Tweaked Rule #5 to be more specific:

5) Please refrain from posting "nasty," "unhelpful" or "snippy" comments. We will remove inappropriate posts as needed. Also refrain from posting very short answers, since in most cases these do not contribute. Posts should be at least four words in length unless you use a full-size picture as part of the response. Double posting is not permitted: if you have to answer more than one response, please post the response as one and/or do any edits to your post to accomodate the rule. The only exception to the double post rule is if it's done after a 24 hour period.

Did some modifications to rules to be more specific:

3) Please read or re-read your posts before posting. If you are upset take a moment to make sure that your post is not going to make a situation worse. Also, make sure that your post makes sense. Spelling and grammar do make a difference in the professional world for good reasons, so if you plan to be a communicator, i.e. a writer, then learn to do so now. It will also make it easier for others to help you if they can understand what you are asking or are saying. Please do not use 'computer shorthand' wording, commonly found in chatroom and cellphone messaging. This rule will be more enforced in the 'Ask the Editor' and 'Ask the Artists' sub-forum.

8) Please refrain from posting large images/pictures, moving GIF and video pictures in your posts unless absolutely necessary as they slow down the message board. Note that there is a maximum of four images (including emoticons) per post. In addition, do not post, use or provide links to images of a personal photo, icon or drawing that could be offensive to others. These include but are not limited to pictures and images of a pornographic or sexually suggestive nature, mutilations, and hentai. Pictures containing foul language or remarks toward race or religion are not allowed. Pictures in mainstream news articles that would otherwise not be allowed may be linked to, but a descriptive warning label must be attached. Moderators have the final say in links and pictures and may remove or delete such if deemed necessary.

Modification to Rule #4:

4) Freedom of speech does not include inflammatory comments. Using provocative, slanderous or threatening language is not constitutionally protected. Foul language or swear words are not permitted. Words censored by the word filter will appear as **** and should not be circumvented. Posts of this nature can and will be wiped from the board. If you have a personal grievance with someone else, communicate via e-mail, but leave it off of the board. Do not get into a war with them on the board, because if you do then you are no better than they are and will be dealt with as so. Discuss and debate ideas, principles, etc. not each other’s personalities.
