It's soooo hard to just generalise indie or define what indie is I think. It's so broad

I dont no if these guys would be classified as Indie but L'Arc en Ciel are an awsome band! and they have lots of songs and theme tracks to lots of animes like Naruto and FMA. Also british bands like Kaiser Chiefs, Keane and Coldplay would be considered quite indie! And I think Arctic Monkeys are British *shrugs* ah well they are classified as Indie anyway!

Oh my, no way in hell will L'Arc en Ciel ever be considered indie. It is too Visual Kei to fall even 992837482 feet away from the genre. >_<

I'm into a load of indie music, both American and Japanese. I'll name two, and if you listen to either of 'em you win a cheesecake: Belle & Sebastian, and hare-brained unity. They are awesome possum.

Lately I've been loving Silversun Pickups. Also, speaking of UK bands, The Kooks are really catchy. Some of my all-time favs are Death Cab and Rilo Kiley. I listen to everything, but I think indie music has the best lyrics :)

Lots of good bands are listed here so i'm not going to give you a list, just a few.
I say "Small Sins",
"Les Savy Fav"(They are not together anymore though),
And "The Streets" if you are looking for somethin British. I don't listen to them anymore so I don't know if they are broken up or not.
I might post some other things that I like later.

I like music. And when it comes to indie, I'm a big fan of old indie type bands like Joy Division, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen. The UK indie scene is very good indeed at the moment also, but its hard to define indie bands as indie bands, although i do love Arctic Monkeys, Guillemots, The Subways, Bloc Party. And you americans and canadians have got some pretty safe indie rolling around at the moment, Arade Fire, The Shins, Death Cab, Tokyo Police Club, Bright Eyes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I think the list could go on but i don't wanna bore you. It's good.

You should hear Novellue vogue's cover's of the old stuff because their "love will tear us apart" is awesome.
