That is one great sword... What/How did you make it?
I love cosplay... but thanks to school I barely have time to make the big projects I want to. This year I had to restrict myself to just ONE cosplay. Battle Royle - But since I'm already done I just might make another...

Hi! I just signed up so naturally I would gravitate to the one thing I live for: Cosplaying.
I actually didnt go to my first con until Otakon 2005 *since my parents were some of those people who didn't really let me out much* which was AFTER I graduated high school.
I had actually been "cosplaying" since I was little; I only dressed up as anime characters on halloween, costume parties, etc.
I do believe my first one was SailorMars, but now, since my mother sews, I'm making my own costumes with her help.
I've become way to much of an addict, and have more than 100 ideas, but only have the time and money for about... 10 at a time... *I can't focus on just one*
I'm currently working on a Momiji costume (Fruits Basket), Sasuke (Naruto), a giant Pocky box (I'm planning on being an art major.... XD)
So, yeah! Howdy!

Construction is fiberglass over poly foam. Details are done with a variety of materials from bondo putty to resin, to wood and spray plastic.
Tools: 1"extruded polystyrene foam (pink insulation from Home Depot), 6" retractable utility knife, Japanese saw, several grits of sandpaper, epoxy resin fiberglass, fiberglass cloth, squeegee, palm sander, bondo putty, silicone rubber/dispenser gun, 3/4" PVC tubing, 2" wood screws, drill, Polyester resin, sculpey, dremel tool, acrylic paints, Krylon Fusion spray paint, clear spray sealer, Luma inks, airbrush, paintbrushes, wool felt, 1/4" 'silk' ribbon, clear casting resin, casting resin color, modeling clay, heavy-duty marine glue, a can-do attitude.
Uhh yeah.. ^_^. all this was used to make the sword. but i had some help of course.

i love cosplay! i do it every month for the local anime fests here. the top prize is $100 ^_^...i haven't won first yet, but i will soon. i've won 2nd place a couple times and have won some other reconigazitation awards(i have bad spelling)
my most favorite costume, by far, has been my sheena from tales of symphonia. i had to teach myslef sewing so most of my costumes have been less then steller...my best works so far i have yet to complete (basicaly they're sitting on my chair in my room, wating for that last touch) but the one that photographed the best was my belldandy and my serenes forest cosplay. heres a pic of the belldandy:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v703/naraku_kagura/cosplay/Belldandycosplay2005.jpg
you can see more of my cosplay pics on my acp page (my web page link)
my imediate cosplay plans (aka, i have to finish by anizona 2) are maid colette(Tales of symphonia), kalas (baten kaitos), and ellen (fire emblem 6: japan release only)
also, kick butt sword there! i have yet to work with fiber glass, but hey, i'm trying to get the hang of resin casting right now. also, do ya have a full costume pic?
