So, did anyone see him rock out at the Superbowl? OMG, the only way that could have been better would have been if he'd gone crazy and started playing music from Batman. The first one. You know, Batdance and stuff. That would have been fantastic. :P

Let's go crazy!

No, I didn't. Why, did he do something weird?

Other than "coincidentally" singing purple rain in the middle of a rainstorm? Not really. Least I didn't notice anything.

Then again, I kept almost falling asleep so mebbe I missed something. God but American sports are boring to watch. You people need better commentators.

Actually, that was the best "Superbowl" ever. Usually its dull as hell, this game was actually pretty exciting. Yes, that means that the other ones were even more dull.

And lets be honest, American sports are just a damn good excuse to drink beer with your buds. :P

Wait, "usually" it's dull as hell? They took ten bloody minutes for every minute of game-time! If I hadn't made a £10 bet I wouldn't even have kept watching past half-time. In fact as it stands I'm not sure I didn't fall asleep: one minute they where playing, the next the trophy was being handed out and they where calling themselves world champions despite the obvious fact it wasn't a world competition.

Only good bit was the naffness of the commentary. "Brilliant catch! He caught it in his hands!" indeed. At least in britain we have commentators saying the ref got it wrong, taking sides and making jokes when people make rubbish mistakes.

Yes, football commentators are definately the bottom of the barrel. I proposed, to my buds that I was drinking with, that we boil them in hot water Japan-game-show-like.

At least it wasn't Madden for this game, that would have been even more painful.

Yess. Boiling sounds good to me.

So Madden isn't just a name on a tired EA sports frabchise, then? Well I never.

Funny that, really. Until sunday Madden Football for sega megadrive was the closest I'd got to the bloody sport. That and mutant league football for megadrive. And Blood Bowl. Still don't understand why they need so much protective padding for a sport less violent thjan rugby.

Yup! His performance was a highlight for my memories of the halftime show. Everything about it was amazing--the crowd singing along, the starry night sky of fans with lights, the rain during "Purple Rain", even the provocative guitar-wielding profile silhouette along the flowing see-through cloth. He's just an amazing musician and eye-catching entertainer (see Jamie Foxx's stand-up for more on that). And yea, the Batman music would have pushed it over the top O_O

The game itself was entertaining, especially that first quarter. The past few Super Bowls have had lots of stingy defense and scoreless first halfs.

And I couldn't stand Phil Simms. X_X

I went to a Superbowl party. Big mistake. Should've stayed home. The only thing good about it was the food. (Pigged out.)

Anyway, I missed Prince's performance. I heard people screaming downstairs though so...I guess it was good...?

I watched Prince's performance on t.v. He only sang one of his songs. The Foo Fighters song he sang was okay. My friend was rooting for Chicago even though you knew they were gonna loose. Foolish friend.

Prince was weird. I only watched like 2 minutes of it before I turned it off.

Well the commentators _where_ rubbish. And at least I haven't commented on the absurd need to wear unnecesary safety equipment for a game of rounders...

Besides, I don't dis everything American. Have to say I was impressed how patriotic folk where during the national anthem. Very impressive, even if I do think it's a crap song.

Here's the question, was I supposed to stand during the Anthem while I was drinking at the pub? :P And is singing along required? :P

Aratos

Well in britain it's traditional to stand and sing along wherever you happen to be. Assuming there _is_ singing of course. often it's jsut the instrumental. Which is fine, seeing as we have the best anthem in the world and all.

Of course it used to be that you'd stand for the Queen's speech at christmas, but the number of people nowadays who just don't watch it...

Well in my eyes it has nothing redeeming about it whatsoever! Not my fault. Besides, like I say, I don't insult all things American.

>__< Arrgh! The Superbowl... I was stuck watching it with my boyfriend and his dad. I hate football. I tried to stay upbeat about it with thoughts like "at least the commercials should be good." Yep. There were like, two or three "good" commercials, the rest were lame or ones I'd seen before. *sigh* At least we got pizza.

Afterwards we went to my house, which is about an hour's drive. Boy, was that fun. I seriously don't think I've ever seen so many drunk drivers in my life, even on the holidays. It was scary. Cars swerving behind us, cars swerving in front of us, lot's of traffic, cops pulling people over everywhere.... I guess the Superbowl really is just about beer.
We even left early just to avoid the drunk drivers.

And also, to get more on topic, I don't really like Prince. I've only heard a few of his songs, honestly. But I think it was kind of cool to see him singing "Purple Rain" in the rain. I also thought it was interesting how he matched everything (clothes, guitars, stage, colors). He was alright. Can't say I think he did an great performance though, but that's my opinion.
