I just got back from seeing their musical "The Onion Cellar" (a birthday gift, I'm 22 today!!!); and the sound that Amanda & Brian have is tremendous. I don't think there's an American female singer that has the voice, determination, and charisma that Ms. Palmer has. (The musical was too awesome to describe, too.)

I first heard about them when they first got together at the Middle East in October of 2000; and two month's later they were named Boston's Best New Act in the Improper Bostonian. However it wasn't until three years later that I actually heard one of their songs: "Coin-Operated Boy." Burlesque rock is the only way to describe their sound.

"Yes, Virginia" was one of my favorite albums of last year (though not on the top ten due to all the Japanese albums I bought; they deserve a lot of honor for just a mere mention). Oh yeah, and they kill Panic! At the Disco in their "Backstabber" video. That's a win all on its own, IMO.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY2WLMf0F_c

I've only heard a few of their songs, and from what I've heard the vocalist isn't the greatest singer. I like their sound though and I'd love to hear more of their stuff.

They totally rock. My friend told me about them once but I never got around to listening to them, then I went to her house and she played some for me... My reaction:
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're totally wicked and I'm really jealous you got to see the musical :)

I love a few of their songs. I think one of them is called "sing" or something like that. Great song.
