I thought about it but I didn't like any MMORPG I played for more than 2-3 weeks.

I agree with the count. If I was to play an MMORPG (other than completely free ones, like Gunz, which is actually a shooter), I would wait for .Hack//fragment. You only have to pay for the game.

I've been playing FFXI over a year. :P
I did the Sims Online for a bit but got bored, and I used to play Diablo 2 online but the hackers really took over, so I stopped playing it.

Only 1 of the people I know RL plays FFXI.
That was fine I ended up meeting and making new friends in it.

Plus I love that FFXI lets me be a neko. :P

You can do whatever job you want, you just go to your moogle home and change jobs. So if you try Black Mage and don't like it you can go home and switch jobs and be a Paladin etc.
The subjobs are nifty- I'm usually a main job RDM subjob WHM. Basically you get all your RDM spells and then you get the extra WHM spells/abilities up to half of your main job lvl.
So if you're a level 60 RDM with a WHM subjob you can use lvl 30 WHM spells as well.

It also has Chocobos and I can spend time digging with them or fishing or crafting instead of always having to be out fighting.
And the tarus are damn cute, the pet wyverns are cool, and the quests/storylines and cutscenes are great.

Yes there are storylines. But everytime you think you might finish them all they add a new expansion pack. :)
There's a new exp. pack coming out this April.

yes its true i play the game and its rely fun

unforchinetly i stoped playing and deleted my charicter cus my bro wanted to play it and would not get off the computer

Thats sad... Lucky for me, I have my own computer. LOL. So there isn't a not online way to play, that you don't have to pay monthly for?

There's no way to play it for free outside of the free month you get when you buy the game and I think some expansions came with added time.

Since one character can do any job, if you want to have an extra character aka as a mule :P they then charge you an extra dollar per extra character.

However you can always delete your starting character and make a new one without any fuss.

I have 4 extra characters. I do that so I always have 1 in each major city and have easy access to the stores. :)

Well I finally got my RDM to 75 on Ramuh.
Would be interesting to see if others still play...
I especially like the new chocobo-raising. ^^

I probly would be playing it. It would have been my first MMORPG I had ever played. I had bought the game for the computer, but it wouldn't let me play it. Freakin' Graphics Card, and some other crap. I still had access to the Forums and stuff though.
