So, aparently mr Litvinenko was quite likely poisoned with Polonium-210. And he says it was the Russians that did it although Putin denies responsibility and is offering to assist in the investigations. What a horrible way to go.

Thoughts?

Also, I'd suggest we be respectful and keep the conspiracy theories to a minimum, m'kay?

YamPuff-chan has many things to say about this.
In fact she would love to.
But she has no idea what you are talking about.

You... haven't heard?

Ok. Former KGB general. Made some nasty comments about Russian government. got british citizenship a few months ago. A few weeks ago, wound up in hospital after all his hair fell out and his organs began shutting down. Died last night. Radioactive substances found in his corpse. Check the top news item on the english language version of wiki todya.

That's no excuse!

See, if something like this happened in your county, we'd have it with a big headlines os people'd see it. But when it happens in Britain? Oh no. You folk jsut ignore it all. The man got poisoned with a by-product of nuclear fusion for crying out loud!

People all over the world seeing everything that happens in Cairo? I no think so. Nobody's even heard of the comments Mubarak's son made and they were having 'demonstrations' all over Cairo over it.

Or were you referring to America?

Aratos

the collective "you".

Anyway, as a matter of fact there is stuff in Cairo in the times. Relatively often. Mostly about travel and advising us the best reason to visit is to see al the Mosques admitably, but still. And there was a mention in april when some tourists got bombed. And that gets rementioned every so often...

Ok, I take your point.

Didn't they find some radioactive traces on a plane or something? X_X

Aratos

on numerous planes, in a sushi restaurant, in the bodies of some folk he'd met...

On the plus side polonium's only dangerous if it's inhaled.

Amazing how worked up Aratos can get over this, but a 2 year old is murdered and he's like, "Feh, life sucks."

I think because the Brits are still sour over losing their colonies.

No, no, what I'm getting worked up over is the fact that in Britain we get news on all the major events throughout the world, yet when an international incident that could have ridiculously far-reaching copnsequences occurs almost no-one seems to be aware.

I always find myself thinking about that... Like now there's all these special reports about the serial killer in Ipswich. When I saw the news broadcast I wondered if they were talking about it in the U.S. or in other parts of Europe... probably not though. I mean if it were a serial killer loose in some small town in America you could be sure the whole world would know about it.

Actually, America did receive a lot of coverage on the event. Most just too lazy or don't care enough to respond.
