Seriously there are some mangas w/ really awsome artwork on the covers. Which mangas do u think have really great cover art? For me i think Saiyuki has real good cover art:)

I never really thought about it ^^; I think I liked most of the covers for Ceres. There was one that was shiny too lol.

Saiyuki does have some great cover art. Great back art too, now that I think about it.

As for other covers... I like the Full Moon O Sagashite covers, the Sengoku Nights cover, Godchild, and so on. I usually like the covers of my favorite series, so I'm biased. XD;

It's kind of hard to pick out all the covers from the mangas I've read.

However, DearS and Death Note seem to pop into my head for some odd reason when I think about covers. So yeah. DearS and or Death Note.

Death Note, Nana, Loveless, and Bleach are some of my favourites. They're unique, and stand out in a bookstore. I like simpler, more artistic and sparse covers that utilize eyepopping colour combinations and subject matter to set them apart.

i really like Arina Tanemura's artworks....most of her manga books' covers are awesome. all her works are very detailed

I like those covers that are simplistic, and just reflect the nature of the title of the manga; such as what Juror 13 does. The cover isn’t overly done, really simple and is a continuation of the title in a way; as in they both work together.

Of course I do like some of the other manga covers, but I still stick to somewhat simplistic ones, but as with even books that I read, I don’t judge manga on the cover alone. While it’s a factor in my decision, I have many other variables to add it as well; such as other’s feedback, artist, writer, company, length, story, etc.

You know which had some neat covers? Were the Clover covers. They had the regular type color cover, but covers that went over that that were pics, but let you see some through it too. Making for two in one covers. It was really neat.

Some manwhas (korean mangas) have amazing cover art. Especially Yureka. For mangas now, Macross 7: Trash had some great cover art as well, same with Gundam: École du Ciel.

CLAMP seem almost incapable of putting out manga with ugly covers. The covers for X were so beautiful because they were so overly simplistic--stark black blackground with a large "X" set in different colors for each volume. More attractive than it should be. ^^;;

I personally like overart where each consecutive volume of the series follows a certain cover template rather than a mishmash of seemingly random artwork with no real connecting theme between volumes.

P.S. I'm a huge fan of the Japanese covers for Chobits.<3 It's a shame the cover stock they used gets dirty so easily...

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of CLAMP and I think that they probably have some of the best cover art. I especially liked the cover art for Clover and the special edition Japanese Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. :D

Tsubasa Chronicles have awesome covers. Chobits does too. And I also think Paradise Kiss have kool covers too. Princess Ai's covers are kool. BUt that's just my opinion. :D

Not Tokyopop, but still: I love Del Rey's xxxHOLiC covers, even though I do wish they'd refrained from cutting the images, brightening the colours and adding a logo. ...so, really, thinking about it, I love the original Japanese covers, and resent the changes Del Rey's made. Um. Backtrack?

Okay, a cover I actually like would be any and all of the Kimi wa Pet (/Tramps Like Us) covers - I just love Ogawa Yayoi's cover art. I really like the fact that DMP keep the original covers for their titles, like Only the Ring Finger Knows and Antique Bakery (scratch and sniff! :D) - they may be cheesy, but I love them.

it doesn't look so impressive here, but on the actual cover, the black bit is like rough, and the silver bit sticks out and it's smooth, so it looks AND feels good.

I agree that CLAMP has some great cover artwork - hell even the Clamp no Kiseki covers are great. I am also fond of the Full Moon wo Sagashite covers and now the Shinsei Doumei Cross covers ... Yoshihara Yuki has some great covers s well - but I guess I should say her back covers - she likes to take the serious cover on the front and make a joke out of it on the back.. I love that!

Oh yes, they were beautiful... The publishers really outdid themselves with CLOVER.

Chrono Crusade's got some spiffy covers. ^.^ I really like the cover of Dream Gold, and Peacemaker Kurogane nice too. Hot Gimmick gots some nice one, so does alot of others. xD Tsubasa, Negima!, Loveless, some xxxHolic, Alichino, Death Note, DearS, Genshiken, the list goes on and on. xD

DOLL by Mitsukazu Mihara - the covers have a twisted beauty to them and I love the way the image wraps around from cover to back.

Goong - The original Korean covers are just beautiful with the details of the clothes and colors.

yeah Saiyuki does have great cover art. It's a pity but it really depends on which country you get the manga from. The Demon Diary covers are awful in the UK but great in Germany...unfortunately, i have the English version T_T

I think x/1999 has the most beautiful covers. Also shirahime-syo.

yep, X has great covers^^ I prefer covers where each volume has the same style...like Furuba, X, Imadoki etc. Some of them don't (Demon Diary for example)

Saiyuki has nice covers, though I don't really care for Reload's that much.
I also like the DNAngel covers, especially since they use the Japanese covers (except for volumes 1 and 2) which are really cute.

The Priest Covers are amazing. The artist has gone on to work for microsoft but the TOKYOPOP where so good that the artist wanted to use them on special editions released in Korea.

Some of the Sgt Frog covers are pretty amazing too. If you look at the cover you can tell where the artist pulled images from the book and colored them. It's pretty cool.

The covers for Clover are very nice, whether or not you happen to like that particular series.

And the cover for volume 10 of Death Note just stands out above the rest.

I've always thought that the covers for Legal Drug were distinctive. They always standout from the other books when theyre shelved with their covers facing forward. Their minimalist artstyle is also very indicative of their interior art which is also quite minimalist (especially for CLAMP which is better known for its opulent, almost baroque artstyle). It was the covers for Legal Drug that kept drawing my attention whenever I came into the manga section of the bookstore and eventually piqued my interest enough to open the book to look inside. Ultimately, that's what a cover is intended to do ... get the potential reader to open the book and check out the inside.

the first thing i noticed about it when my friend brought it to show me, i was like, 'OHMYGOD. THE COVER IS SO AWESOME.'
i also really like the cover for dolls. and alichino (sp), although i haven't read it yet. anddd i do like the fruits basket covers, even though they aren't insanely elaborate or anything. i just think they're cute.
AND I REALLY LIKE LOVELESS' covers.

I don't know why, but I loved the cover to Gunslinger Girl. It just fits the manga so well. I also really liked the cover to Immortal Rain vol. 1. The other Immortal Rain covers were ok, but I just really latched onto the vol 1 cover.
