how do you know what episodes of animes are fillers. even if you don't know if they're fillers and such. if you don't read the manga first then is there still a way to find out if an episode of an anime is a filler

This is what I think a filer is.

When an anime episode has nothing to do with the main plot. For example, at the end of an episode to really strong guys are battleing and they do thier final attack but it cuts off before you can see who won. Then the next episode it has a side character going to do normal stuff like go shoping or fighting creatures that have nothing to do with the previous episode.

Do you get what I'm saying?

I am as well. When I think of Inuyasha, I shutter. I like the manga, but I got so tired of the anime because of all the fillers.

Same here.
Also, the fillers in Bleach are very funny and well down although they are put in very annoying places.

but you also have to remember that fillers only occur when the anime is close to the manga

not really because a filler isn't necessarily limited to the anime. Mangas have filler chapters too. A filler is really any episode or chapter that has nothing to do with the main plot and the creators are basically just trying to give a break in the action or add to the page count of their tankoubon or raise their episode count. It could be something as random as taking a trip to a hot spring or just a new side storyline that's introduced. Some are done well and some aren't but there's no need to write an episode off automatically just because it doesn't deal with the main story.
