Hmmm...it's a three-way tie.

Johnette Napolitano(Concrete Blonde)...the woman has an astounding vocal range, and has deep soul power. "God is a Bullet" can almost bring me to tears, and Dance Along the Edge is hypnotically beautiful.

Siouxsie Sioux(Siouxsie&The Banshees) has a sultry, lust-filled voice that really captivates. She's one of the few singers out there that can cover a Beatles song and make it thousands of times better than the original. Listen to "Dear Prudence" for proof.

Stevie Nicks(Fleetwood Mac) has an extremely ethereal voice and air about her. And...c'mon, "Sister of the Moon" and "Landslide".

's easy.
David Bowie. When your career has spanned 5 decades and you're still as creative, prolific and downright sexy as ever before, you deserve some sort of medal.

Seconded. ^^ The first time I discovered him in The Labyrinth years ago, I was drawn to him and been listening to his music ever since.

Probably aretha franklin, if you should go on musical feeling, if it's pure skill though celindion, not a huge fan of her music, but she's insanely good...

If you're going to mention Franklin, you can't forget Etta James, either. They both have that deep soul that is rarely seen these days.

Hm... I'm going to have to say Gackt. Followed by Michihiro Kuroda and then TM Revolution. I'm not really one for American music anymore.

Zack de la Rocha.

Definitely my favorite singer.
He's got a stage prescence and a power in his vocals that can't be matched.
When he sings I can't help but listen.

I also love Gavin Hayes.
His voice is just beautiful.

Surprised that no one's mentioned Maynard James Keenan yet. :/ His voice is lovely, and it just tends to draw people in...

As for a female vocalist, Beth Gibbons from Portishead is amazing. Never before have I heard a voice so haunting. -delighted shivers-

My favorite singer is Miyavi ^^ (All my other favorites are in bands XD)

EDIT: Opps... I thought we could only name singers that aren't in a band ^^ In that case, my favorite singer has to be Hizumi of D'espairsRay... he has such a sexy, unique voice that doens't seem to stop pulling me in <3

It is a brilliant song, one of the ones that got me in to his music. lol, I'm listening to "gatsu no sereanade" right now. I reckon you'll like that one if you haven't already heard it. That one and Sayonara are my current fav's.

i dont really have a favorite singer but Alicia Keyes is awesome. and Billy Holiday and Ella fitzgerald are classics so you gotta love them too. i'm not a fan of those annoyingly nazel popstar voices tho. I hates them!
