Am I the only one who picked this great gem of an RPG up way back when it released? Honestly, I have not played an RPG that had so much action and storyline as Valkyrie Profile. Beautiful music and art, plus a battle system that I still say to this day has to be beaten. Nowadays, a really good copy runs up to $200 or so! It is awesome that SquareEnix is re-releasing the game on the PSP but I just can't wait for the PS2 "prequel"!
I would love to hear about any good or highly frustrating moments anyone has had in this game. There are so many to choose from...

I actully bought the game this year... for only 50$. ^^
Lucky me.
I only got the B ending and I will get the A ending (the one that actully has the plot) once I finish a few games.
and I realy did enjoy the battle system ^^

Here are some facts about me in relation to Valkyrie Profile:
1) I submitted Valkyrie and Freya as "Videogame hotties" for the IGN (I think it was them) website. The next week they put Mystina up. Well, at least ONE Valkyrie Profile character's on their list!
2) I used the name "Lezard" as the name of my role-playing avatar on many message board RPGs for years. I hung up the mantle eventually when I started going to college and didn't have as much time for role playing.
3) I used a computer program that lets you hear sounds from PSX games and I know for a fact that the Japanese voices are on the discs, "buried" under other data.
4) This is my third favorite game of all time after Castlevania: SOTN and Final Fantasy Tactics.
5) Because of this game I have developed a "valkyrie fetish". I squeal in delight every time I see valkyries portrayed in a game. For example: the Valkyrie card in Culdcept, valkyrie units in Age of Mythology, the valkyrie monster in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and the valkyrie in Gauntlet.

That school, or labrotory, whatever it was. The one that you had to use the different perfumes to kill the plants was annoyingly confusing without some kind of a guide. Argh, I hated that stage. I have a ripped version of the game, unfortunatly, but I had borrowed it from my friend so I got to the second disc, which made me happy. I LOVE almost anything that has Norse Mythology in it.

Ugh! it was a horrid stage! I can't remember the name of it, but you had to make Lenneth smell like three smells in order to make a plant disspear for a period of time.

Ah, Valkyrie Profile...
I picked it up back when it first came out. It was one of our first PS games ever. Unfortunately, my sister and I had a tendency to get stuck/confused immediately after leaving the first area. We had no idea where to go next, so we never really progressed. ;_; Aaah, now I want to play it again! That's it; over spring break I will probably accomplish nothing but replaying Valkyrie Profile and Legend of Mana...
[off-topic] Jasper, since you have a valkyrie fetish, have you ever read the webcomic Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki? [/off-topic]

YES! That's my least favorite stage too! I hate it! That and Lezard's Tower (the most complex map in the entire game), oh and that air fortress or whatever with the numbered teleporters...urgh...

Great! It's very funny, at least in my opinion. It's a sort of parody of magical-girl comics(which explains the name) that ends up involving a lot of Norse mythology. You can find it here (http://sgvy.com). Watch out, though-- there's some serious cleavage going on in those parts. You could put an eye out. ;P
