Okay, not sure if this is the right section, and I can't find another thread for it.
I just got an Ipod, and I have NO idea how to get the songs from my computer onto the darned thing.
I got it from Ebay, so there are some songs on it already (deleted the ones I didn't want).
Can someone PLEASE help me with this?

Well, I used to have an ipod, anyways, do you have a usb cord that connects from your ipod to your computer?
By the way, you'll need Itunes to put music from your computer to your Ipod.

Yes, I know that.
I already have the USB chord and ITunes, installed it, got the update, and removed the songs I DIDN"T want from the IPod.
But I can't figure out how to get the songs ONTO the Ipod. I imported them into ITunes, but that only put them in the library. When I tried to syncronize the library and the Ipod music, I'd have to lose the songs already on teh Ipod, and I want to keep those.

Then you're SOL. You can only have an iPod linked to one computer at a time (for some reason). So right now it's still linked to whoever's computer put the current music on. So it won't let you put your music on it without reseting it.
There are programs out there that'll let you take music off the iPod (I don't know any tho). You could take the music on it off, then put the music back into iTunes, then reset the iPod through iTunes and sync with yer library and you have it all.

Ah.... I see. So I can export the songs I want to keep (or just download them again).
Alright, I think I can handle that. Thank you very much. ^^

Anytime.
BTW: if you want an iTunes alternative look here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_iPod_Managers) (not that iTunes is bad, it's just very restrictive)

What about CDs? If I put those into my library, will they automatically go onto my Ipod?

When you update the iPod, yes. I don't see why they wouldn't.

Ipod is the best invention of the 21st century :D So far, IMHO

Well, it's certainly more convenient than lugging around dozens of CDs and a player. That's why I bought it.
The fact that it's cute is just a bonus.

The main problem with it... at least the older models, is that the battery is quick to lose a charge. I don't know if the newer ones are more effecient though..

I think mine has around an 8 hours life. That should be enough, since I rarely leave my room, anyway.

Mine has 16 hours, I think so anyway. It's longer than 8 hours, that's for sure. And I love the extended warranty, I actually screwed up my Ipod by dropping it almost everyday the first few months I got it... But I never let that happened anymore :P I got it for free too! My bro bought it from Best Buy for himself, but he doesnt use it anymore so he gave it to meeeeeh :)

iTunes pissed me the **** off when I first got my ipod with it's idiotic library/transferring system (the only one computer thing, mostly). I think the two other MP3 players I've owned in the past (a 20 gig Rio one and an Archos jukebox) had both much better firmware and were much more flexible and easy to use. But I'm stuck with this ipod for now, so I guess I'll make the best of it.

Well, I figured it out, so all is well. ^^
Erm... my question got answered, so unless other people are having Ipod problems, this can be closed...
