Why? Everyone in the world loves that movie, they just try to hide it. That movie and the CD hit the top of the charts. And "gangstas" blast the CD in their cars. Lol.

The first time I saw the movie I didn't like it. The second time around I got hooked on the songs. A sequal is being made.

As for the question at hand...I don't really like Ashley or Vanessa. But if I had to choose then Vanessa. Ashley can't sing worth a dime and her voice is so squeaky, over-dramatized, and high it can be used as a torture device. Now that I think of it...Ashley would probably make a 'good' J-Pop singer. She's like a white (excuse my political incorrectness. Hope no one takes offense) Ayumi Hamasaki! They would love her over in Japan. Especially if she gets blue contacts!

Plus my friend Cassidy is playing Vanessa's character in her school's version of High School Musical. The only difference? Cassidy sings way better.

Well, my sister made me watch it. I thought it was the most horrible, cliched, stereotyped teen flick I've ever seen, and I happen to enjoy teen flicks.The songs were pretty awful and they kept repeating the one same song over and over and over and over....but my sister loved it. I can't belive it made such a big hit.

come'on what is really wrong with the show the songs barely repeat and the actors did pretty good job too. i pickekd vanessa because she just plainly sings better. even her own debut album sounded better than ashleigh's kiss the girl song. (little mermaid rocks)

high school musical is awesome i just dont get why people can be so cruel to it, i mean is a bad song gonna make the charts. i guess the majority of manga/anime fans jusst don't like it cuz i remember when someone made a thread about high school musical and a bunch of people put it down. i mean give it a chance.

I've seen scenes of the movie...several scenes but I haven't gotten down to watching it or anything. I don't plan to either. From what I've seen, it's just another Disney Movie. My sister used to love it but she grew out of the phase pretty fast. >_> I got her those autographs for nothing then. @_@ I saw them perform in Times Square back in March and got autographs from them but at the time, I had no idea who they were, other than people from the Disney Channel, so I was like, "Mister, can I have your autograph" XD Just for my sister and she grew out of it. Sheesh...oh but I'm getting off topic...I'll have to say neither too because I don't really like any of them.

I did give it a chance. I love Disney movies. The songs weren't too bad; I didn't mind them too much, but the story itself was horribly cliche and didn't have anything new and interesting in it. Its just another teen flick.

Lol. And that's the beauty of it. When me and my friends watched it we cracked up and said "Ah, if only high school really was like that..."

Sometimes a good cliched, stereo-typed teen flick is good for the soul. Like chicken noodle soup!

Sometimes...but not always. And like most one-hit wonders...the sequel is going to flop so bad. Ah, the evil satisfaction.

I did like the status quo song, though. That was silly.

You're right the sequal is probably going to be horrible. Oh well. It'll be a good laugh.

But as for Vanessa Hudgens I think her CD is gonna bomb. Every Disney Channel star turned singer's CDs have failed except for Hilary Duff. Oh and Lindsay Lohan's first CD was successful.

Anyway here's Vanessa's music video for her first single "Baby Come Back." I hate the video because she's acting so fake, but the beat of the song isn't too bad.

pirates of the carribbean II was good, and it was a disney film too okay getting off track. i use to like the status quo song but it kinda annoys me. vanessa as a singer, maybe her first cd will be sucessful because of her fan but im not so sure bout the rest. cliché storylines go high school musical is very cliché (i love this word cliché) but that doesn't mean its bad, well its everybodys opinion im not about to force someone to like and most of you pretty much gave it a chance so its all opinion now

Pirates of the carribean wasn't a one-hit wonder, though. Disney =/= crap sequels.

As oppsoed to anything with pirates = teh win, ergo disney + pirates = comedy + yarr = brilliance. Except there was a alck of yarrs, so POTC = brilliance - yarr = entertainment. See?

Disney peoples. Venessa's okay I guess. Ashley's funny. They BOTH can't sing so...I dunno about High School Musical 2 though. I never saw the big deal about the first one.

On September 6, 2007, controversy erupted after nude photos of Hudgens surfaced online. A statement from her publicist claims that the photos were taken privately and it was "unfortunate" that they were released on the Internet.[11] Hudgens later apologized, saying that she was "embarrassed over the situation" and regretted having "taken [those] photos".[12] Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague indicated that Disney will still be working with Hudgens, stating, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment.
