Faerie's Landing... doesn't ne1 like it?

I looked through the threads and didn't see any about Faerie's Landing... What the heck? :confused: I love Faerie's Landing, and buy the newest ones whenever I can. You Hyun has created an amazing fantasy/comedy, and still I can't find anyone writing about it!! Why? This manga is great, so why doesn't anyone write about it? Try picking up a copy, if you want a funny fantasy loosely based on Korean fairy tales.:D

I have the first volume and it's good but I'm not too big on it. I will continue it, but it's not on my top prioirity list to buy first. ^^;;

yay!!! love the series. hm... wish there was an english word for what Fanta is though... she's not really a faerie... closest you can get is "celestial maiden" ... -_-;;

Faeries' Landing is one of my absolute favorite manhwa titles. You Hyun's characters are so adorable and so funny, and her story always surprises me with its twists and turns. It is, hands down, the title I probably have the most fun editing (though Vampire Game is a close second!).

I actually had the honor of meeting You Hyun at San Diego Comic-Con two years ago, when TOKYOPOP had just started releasing it in the United States. She's remarkably friendly and sweet, and is surprisingly young! I can't believe how much she's managed to get done at such a young age.

In the interest of keeping this conversation going, what's your favorite character? I'm partial to Fanta myself, but I have to say, I also really like Ms. Yun!

Awww... Fanta's so cute! You have to melt when you see the cover of book 5. The story has an excellent sense of humor as well.

okay i mention something about faeries landing a long time ago and is so glad someone came up with a faeries landing thread. this is gonna be one of the threads where i will come back and check on all the time. someone mention how good the cover of volume 5 is but i personally like volume 7 and the title page for volume 13. im gonna give a chracter profile of everyone because i feel like it. starting with my favorite character to my least favorite.

Fanta-coolest faerie in th world controls affinity and she just cool.
kang-looks so much better with short hair

ms yun-they are so lucky to have her as a teacher
the king-best looking faerie thats male and i like his attitude. quote " i did you know king stuff" line never gets old

Faerie's Landing is definitely one of my favorites, although I didn't really discover it until fairly recently. I picked up the first volume just for the heck of it from my local bookstore, and when I liked what I saw, I wound up getting every volume thus far. I even bought a volume I was missing online in order to have the entire series...

i don't really like bast she never appealed to me. though she is pretty cute when she's little. well i love the way she talks. yeh she really shouldn't be that low down.ill change it put it up a couple. i mean she is important and is really cool how she trans form into a cat. yeh i will change my list.

EDIT:i just checked the tokyopop main website to see when the next faeries landing would be release and it seems that the 14 is due for september 12th but i already bought volume 14 last week at borders. so is the information on the website wrong or is my borders just special and gets the books early then others. (same goes for the DNAngel 11th book. my border already has it in stock and on the shelf.)

the art isn't quite good at the first couple volumes but when you get to volumes 7 and up the art gets very good. expecially the newly release volumes. so if its the art thats preventing you from buying it then i will tell you the artworks gets better alot better than book 1

Fair enough, though personally, You Hyun is one of my favorite Korean artists. There seems to be a real homogeny in the way a lot of Korean shojo looks, and I've always admired You Hyun's way of stepping out of that mold. Her characters are attractive and feel freshly drawn. And she DOES improve as the series goes on. Keep in mind that she was a teenager when she started it!

I think it's the humor that most people respond to. That and the slowly building conspiracy that forms the series' plot.

i finished volume 14 and didn't have time to post this but now i do. volume 14 is soooooooooooooooo sad. saddest volume yet. i feel so bad for pain and fanta and lady oran and sindo. soooooo saaaadddddddd. i wanna cry but i can't because im not that type of emational kind of person.

It is a great story. I'm having trouble finding it. I can't find volume 14, no local stores carry it. I will probably have to special order it. I want to know what happened to Fanta, Pain, & Sindo. I really want to know why Lady Oran is so mean to Fanta. I hope Sino has to live in interesting times (is punished in a very painful way & that is long lasting).

I thought the series was awesome, but I think that I couldn't wait for the next one to come out, so I forgot about it.
