Since Tower is being closed, there should be deep discounts coming soon. I stoped shopping there long time ago because of their high prices but I'll check out in the next couple of weeks to see what I can scanvage.
I might have to wait while:
CDs were 10% off this week, still not a bargain. At 10% off the list price of $18.99, Beyonce's B'day was selling for $17.09, compared with $9.99 on Amazon. Great American President Andy Gumaer said the discount will increase over the six to eight weeks it takes to close the stores.

Hmmm...
I might consider doing some shopping.
Though even with discounts I'm cheap.

The trick is picking the right time to go shopping there. You could wait a long time for the deep discounts to come however if you wanted something popular, it might not be there anymore. I might pick up some of thier displays to use as bookshelfs or dvd stands if their cheap as well.

If they have a discount sale for everything else, (IE Books, graphic Novels, magazines, and dvd's) then I'm definitely going. If not then I'll go somewhere else.

Now I'm just wondering what's going to be taking over Tower Records. There's this huge one by the theaters I go too... I'm guessing we'll have just a big borders there or something. Or no wait... another Starbucks >_<

Thanks for the heads up Shadowmoses!

It's everything because the new owner wants to liquidate everything. I hope there isn't a lot anime fans in your area so you could get some good deals. :p

Yes!! And I hope so too. I think Tower Records is the perfect place to buy some presents.

I should probably check Tower Records out this weekend just in case all the great stuff doesn't get bought.

Thanks again!

Can someone tell me the location of Tower Records? I mean, is it like a tangible store? Because if they're closing and things are on sale...I wanna go...

Is this a worldwide shutdown?

But consider...the world NEEDS another Starbucks. It will ALWAYS need another Starbucks. ALWAYS. *eyetwitch*

All of the Tower Records stores are closing as of December 6, 2006. The company who bought them at the bankruptcy is liquidating all of their products.

Oh man I have a friend who works at one in Philadelphia! Rural PA doesn't have much to offer in the musical selection I prefer (that being UK Rock mainly and indie my friends have dragged me to)

There's a Tower Records in front of this Barnes and Nobles, I'll have to check it out sometime soon.
