View Full Version : Kino no Tabi Novel ads = Noise Pollution

I've got to say that those are probably the most annoying ads I've experienced on the website. The motorcycle sound that they gave off lead me to believe that there was something wrong with my speakers, for I could not find what was making the horrendously irritating sound. It took 15 minutes of investigation only to discover that the ad on your main page was making that muffled humming sound.
Dudes... seriously. Please fix that? Please? I'd rather prefer my sound not be assaulted with motorcycle noise spam each time I visit the site.

I take it you mean 'ad' as in 'advertisement', not 'add' as in 'addition'. (edit-yea you fixed it!)
But yea, that noise is annoying. I'm with Crispy about something happening with the ad. Either get rid of the ad or the sound it makes.

I think its cute, even though it freaks me out when it comes outta nowhere. Sounds a bit like someone tinkering with a toilet. XD

What is that noise suppose to be anyway?

I had thought it was a robot saying something backward, probably some message. Damn TP trying to put thoughts in are head.
But I guess not.

lol, They arent clever enough for that... as far as I know xD But yeah, the first time I heard the noise I thought something was screwed up with my comp... I checked like every window and couldnt figure out where the damn noise was coming from. Then I noticed the weird dude riding the motor bike, and it just cracked me up :D I love it when those weird things pop up from the left too haha
Is there any way to save it onto my comp? xD

The cute little guy saying things about killing people combined with the silly put-put-put sound just kills me.

I'm a curmudgeon. It's annoying. It doesn't make me want the novel any more than I did before. It messes with music that I already have playing… ugh.

What can possibly be a better accompaniment to your music than the sound of a rumbling motercycle followed by a clanking sound? I ask you.

Welcome to the internet. </obligatory sarcasm>
As a user of these forums, you give up all your rights to be here. You aren't in a position to ask/request/demand that things like this be removed. Hell, the webmaster could splash adverts all over the place and make it noise hell. In all seriousness, mute your speakers while you are on the forums if it's that much of a bother. Not that hard.

And yet there is a Forum/Site Questions and issues section. And there are whole threads discussing problems on this forum and site. And the Admins and Tokyopop mods (the people who actually have authority) haven't objected to our questions and complaints.
We can ask and complain about whatever we damn well want to. N00b.

No one was being rude about it. There's nothing wrong with giving polite feedback.

Well some of us like listening to music out of are computers, and are on forums the whole time. So that wouldn't work.

Hah. n00b? On the contrary. This isn't a "problem" for the forums or for the site. It's something you as a viewer need to basically suck up and accept when viewing websites online. I suppose you do the same on other forums as well, "I don't like that popup, can you remove it? It has bad design tastes..."

C'est la vie. Live with it or don't come here.

Actually, you refreshing gets rid of the problem, which is what I do after watching the ad for a while. The real problem is whenever I feel like watching it I have to change pages forever for it to come up.

LOL. I'm know you meant that as an insult, but that's exactly what I do. Its called 'feedback' and that's what sites like to have, whether or not you are capable of dealing with it. Its allowed and encouraged by this forum. So suck up and accept it.

The ad for Kino No Tabi is a little annoying. I'd have to agree with the others.

I was gonna make a thread and tell TP to shut it on that ad, someone beat me to it. It has actually bugged me for some times now, but I guess my patience take awhile to wear off. It's starting to give me a headache actually.
(and yes, I registered on the forum just for this.)
