I can't believe there's no F4 thread already! :eek: Come on, guys...

Anyway for those of you who are wondering what "F4" is...they're simply a great Chinese (or is it Taiwanese?) boy band. I love their voices and their CD "Meteor Rain" is one of my favorite CDs of all time. They make such catchy songs! And *gasp* F4 can actually sing good live...and it's not even lip-singing! They also stared in a TV drama based off the anime "Hana yori dango" (Boys over Flowers) called "Meteor Garden." It was very popular and now has a sequal!

Has anyone heard of them? Or at least the show? Or is this one of the subjects where I'm alone in my knowledge....

They're pretty famous in the Philippines, Taiwan, China (I think) and I heard they tried to make it in Japan.

I'm actually surprised that somebody else has seen Meteor Garden (I) and Mars. Although their fame as a band waned, those TV series are still my favorites. Their performence in Mars was completly amazing (I love the opening song, and have it on my ipod XD). Metoer Garden was also really good, but I kinda got bored of the second one and stopped watched at around epiosde 5 maybe.

Out of curiosity though, how many people who've seen these are chinese? Cause that's the language it was originally.

Yeah...Meteor Garden 2 drags on. But I have to wait it out to see Vanness and his love interest. *cries*

I'm not Chinese...not even Asian...but I watched all of MG1 on Youtube with subs. xD I like so many Taiwanese dramas...I'm starting to know Mandarin!

I wasn't feeling the manga.

Why don't you just use the Taiwanese names that were used in the series?

-Shan Cai (Tsukushi Makino) played by Barbie Xsu
-Dao Ming Si (Tusukasa DomYoJi) played by Jerry Yan
-Ximen (Sojiro Nishikado) played by Ken Zhu
-Mei-Zhuo(Akira Mimasaka) played by Vanness Wu (Not Vannessa! xD)
-Hua Ze Lei ( Rui Hanazawa) played by Vic Zhou

If you watched MG how could you not know their Mandarin names?

Anyway I'm watching MG2 to see Mei-Zhuo/Akira who is played by the beautiful Vanness Wu.

Hana-Kimi is Taiwanese. But I think they just use the Japanese name.

my cousin is in the advertising business and his company had a mini concert promoting the F4 song Ask for More. Guess who he had a picture with? Vic Zhou!!
Who's in my opinion a much better actor than Vanness.

You have to admit that back in the Meteor Garden days...they all pretty much sucked. But they've improved with time. I think Vanness hit his stride in Dragon Squad. He gave a credible and intense performance, which surprised everyone. Even me.

Zai Zai's good too. I heard he did great in "Silence" or whatever it's called. I think he's adorable. Though I like him better without the bangs and the tan he was starting to acquire.

I never said Vanness' acting was better. I just said he improved a lot. I have yet to see more of Zai Zai's acting.
