Naruto I’ve been a fan of (though I am not overly obsessed with it) and Someday’s Dreamers #1 was really interesting to read.

I plan to finish reading I Lov Halloween #2 and The Dreaming #1 sometime within the next few days (I am a slow reader).

It's a collection of the following short stories by Mami Takezaki (not all of them are Grimm Fairy Tales, but that's the title of the series, anyway):

This is an old Japanese ghost story. The beautiful, honest wife is abused by the "good" husband who is fooled by an evil woman...tee hee. This is pretty typical fairy tale fare, isn't it?
Jyajyauma Narashi (The Taming of the Shrew)
I love the theme in this one, well, it IS Shakespeare. The man thinks he's "tamed" his wife, but....*go wife!*

I used to collect the "real" versions of Grimm's Fairy tales (like how Cinderella's sister's cut their feet to fit the shoes, etc). The original "Fairy Tales" were actually stories for adults and they were pretty gruesome. There are quite a few books out there, so I was really happy to find that there were manga like that, too. Granted these aren't always true to "form" and some of them are retellings of the "essense" of the fairy tales set in time periods/worlds that differ from the original story. So said, this was pretty entertaining for me.

:p Erm, the content is quite adult, and I think this is definately in the "Lady's" category.

I finished X-Kai- volume 1 last night. The episodic stories (3 total) were slightly above average, each containing a small unexpected twist although their final resolution was predictable. However, the artwork really appealed to me and was what sold me on the book in the first place. Good use of black & negative space. An intriguing mixture of very minimalistic panels punctuated with realistically detailed set pieces to establish scene locale.

I read Not So Bad yesterday afternoon. It's a Boys Love story published by Netcomics. Once I got used to the art style, I found it very enjoyable. The characters drew me in. A diffident, bored-with-life actor takes in unemployed homeless wanderer he finds beaten up and sitting on the sidewalk near his apartment. The two have a prickly relationship but the wanderer worms his way into the actor's heart. Yet, just when the actor acknowledges to himself that he's grown fond of the wanderer, the wanderer wanders off .... ... to be continued in volume 2 this July. :D

I just read Hot Gimmick Vol.11 and I can't believe the girl is going to pick Ryoki. I read Tenshi Ja Nai Vol.2 which wasn't that bad, better then a review I read about it. I also read Monster Vol.1-3 which was actually pretty good. I'm surpised it lived up to the hype. :D

One would think so. But I picked it up two days ago at my local Barnes and Noble. I've noticed that bigger bookstores tend to get manga in about a week earlier than their estimated street date. (Or maybe it's just where I live...?)
