Fruits Basket - Manga? or Anime?

Opinions on which is better ??

I'd say the Manga, well it does go much further on with the story. And is much cuter I think.

But if there was going to be a second seris of the anime (which I have only heard rumours about. V. unlikely) that woud be so good, as long as it was as good as the first.

Manga definatly! So much more depth and the characters have grown up so much! Not that i didnt love the anime, i absolutly adored it!

The anime leave off interesting parts such as Tohru meeting yuki along time ago and not showing Rin (horse) and Kurogane (rooster and i think i spelled his name wrong)

The manga only wins because it's so much further into the story to the point that I believe it's ending soon....T_T

But the anime is still good, only if they continued it. I think from just the anime, it did a really good job of protraying the original plot. If they decided to turn it into a long series, I think the anime would have been pretty great.

yeah.. i did like the anime..its a shame there is no second season.. i want to see Rin, Kureno, Manabe, Machi and all the others animated.
Who does pokemon go on and on without any interesting thing happen and Fruits Basket just stops when the main story is just about to begin somehow

Manga, definitely the manga. The anime is so short and the background details get missed out a lot so some of the nuances are gone. The english translation is bad in the anime and yuki's voice is more feminine than i thought it should be... Definitely the manga is waaaaaaay better.

I've seen 14-28 episodes of Furuba, but read just a few of the manga((latest volumes)) Its so much better then the anime!

they totally messed up the anime. i hate how they did the true form. i hate how they put yuki in there, and akito, and, oh i hate how they do that. i hate how they dont have tohru all the way for kyo, i mean she loves him. she shudnt be having hanajima telling her to "do what she knows she must" or whatever. that part is my fav part in the whole series and they messed it up! i frickin cried when i watched it i was so upset they messed it up. i think who ever did the anime r yuki/tohru shippers for god sakes! Im all for the manga!

I like both ... the manga is great, but the anime's also pretty good too. It's really cute and humorous at times. In the manga, you can't hear Momiji sing his adorable song in the bath house ... ;D

I love them both. I really like the anime, but it short. The only reason I like the manga is because it continues on after. I disliked the ending of the anime. It left out WAY to much. But some things you can't include in an anime that you do in a manga. ^_^;;; So they are equal to me.

The anime was well done, but it doesn't cover past volume 6. The manga is a much better version, but I think it's going to be over 20 mangas long.

My opinion for almost any anime/manga series is that the manga is always better. I simply think the art quality is paid much more attention to and there aren't any parts of the storyline or humor cut from it. And I think that is the same for Fruits Basket. And besides, in the manga, there isn't the horrors of dubbed voices.

They both have there good points. I liked the anime ending because it focused on a Tohru x Kyou event! <3 while the manga is better because there is more of it

Manga. While the anime has more of a Tohru/Yuki tilt, the manga has a Tohru/Kyo tilt (I know the current Japanese ^^). And, well, I'm a Kyo-fangirl!

I have to say the manga because honestly the voices in the anime bugged the hell out of me. Also they totally put kyo's transformation to the end in the anime and changed the whole situation. I did not like that at all.

Definitely the manga. Animes always end up screwing up the manga they're based on, and Fruits Basket was no exception. It was fine right up to the last 2 eps... Such a tragic ending to such a promising anime.

I saw the first episode only and then read the first volume of the manga, I can't see much of a difference because it is so early on, but maybe the manga (cheaper :D)

manga. i like some parts in the manga that they don't show in the anime. in the anime, the ending was totally wrong. oh well. i just hope that they make more cause its still good.

i read the manga first, and i guess i still like it better.
partly because of the voices. tohru always kind of annoyed me, but in the anime it's worse.
and i can't get used to yuki, kyo, & haru's voices!
although i must admit, i liked aya's voice, and momiji's voice was pretty perfect. but. i don't know. i guess i had the voices and everything all in my mind, and then the anime kind of made me a little confused. but i really like the anime.
i love haru in general, so in the anime, i love seeing him actually moving.
& that line where he's all, 'yuki was my first love, you know'..ohhh my god. i rewound that a million times to hear him say that.
i'm quite the haru/yuki fan. ^.^;;

Well I'm a fan of the manga too... but the anime is just as good. I like the manga cuz they go deeper into the tohru kyou relationship (yes I'm a kyoru fan) When I first watched the anime, I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles. After I tried to watch the first episode in english and I agree with you all... it sux. The voice jsut didn't matc iwth the Japanese version... I even got so annoyed with the voices that I couldn't even finish the first episode... >.< It still annoys me today. Oh well Manga all the way. But I do hope they do a second season of Furuba for the anime...O_o

I think that they are both very good. But it would've been wiser for the anime to be made after the anime so they had a similar ending. Unless they are planning to pick up from where they left off but I somewhat don't see that. I like both

i like the manga much better cuz of the little notes you find in the corners of the pics and the pics are just better all around.
