Evangelion returns!!

First of Four Evangelion Movies due out Summer 2007.

According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007.

While the new story will be set during the same time frame as the original TV series, Newtype states that it will be an entirely new project, not be a remake or improvement of any sort. Newtype also mentions that viewers will not need to have already seen previous Evangelion material in order to understand and enjoy the new movies.

Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yamashita will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie.

Khara, a new studio that shares office space with Gainax, was recently set up and is seeking production staff to work on Anno's new project.
So the series continues eh? Sweeeeet. Though, I'm not a huge fan... it's nice to see something popular like Evangelion return.

ADV must be excited, more money sucking. I can just see it, a Deluxe mega super duper must-have wallet-ripping giant cased booby loaded diamond collection, including the entire series, remastered yet again, with the 4 movies, and a bunch of extras, retailing at say.... $500 xD I havent seen Eva, though I need to see what all the hype is about so Ill probably get the Platinum edition DVDs sometime this year. Birthday probably...

I'm a big fan of the series. I wasn't happy how the NERV series ended, so I hope this time around the ending is done well and I also would like it to be a little more mature. I'm not saving it has to be at gantz level, but it wouldn't hurt.

what were people expecting that they get so furious about the end? i can't think of anything more appropriate than 'end of evangelion.' evangelion is not hamtaro or tenchi in tokyo. it was never a happy series to begin with.

Ohhh whoops looks like it was all a dream and there's no human instrumentality project or angels or existential rape after all---now shinji's biggest problem is having accidentally scheduled a date with asuka on the same night he was supposed to be on his date with rei!!! wacky results ensue!!! pies in the face!!! and everybody learns a valuable lesson!!

Wow, more of this series. I didn't think Gainax could milk this franchise any more but I guess I was wrong. The ending was a little confusing but not that bad. Gainax has really gone downhill with this and the crappy Gunbuster 2.

yay! more Evangelion! I was disappointed with the anime ending. All that stuff about line, space... reminded me of my Art II class waaay too much. I wonder if Kaworu will come back to life... *plotting evil-like*
