About the same time as the Revolution. It'll be a gamecube title but thanks to the Revolutions ability to play GC games it'll be given extra functionality, thus is an incentive to buy.
And yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. Had it on order for months now.

*lol* Absolutely! :D
I just can't believe they're holding it until September. September. *grr* That seems so far away...
I heard from the guy at my local gaming store that they pushed the release date back because the development team got split into two - one to work on Twilight Princess, the other to work on a new Zelda title (a launch title, no less) to go along with the Revolution. Dunno if that's really true or not, but hey, he's a huge Zelda fan who has better connections to the industry than I do, so I really hope so!

Oh well, I waited years for FFVII Advent Children to come out, so BRING ON THE DELAY! Well...maybe not.
I bought a gamecube last summer for the main purpose of owning Twilight Princess. I'm one of those Wind Waker haters. As soon as I saw those cartoony graphics, well, a part of zelda died in me I think. Never have seen any actual gameplay from that :P
But the Zelda in me has been revived! I think my favorite game is the one for the SNES, A Link to the Past, where you go between the light and dark world (which you seem to do in the new one, too). What are your favorite Zelda games, if you can pick one? And if it IS wind waker...I'll be nice and bite my tongue on any harsh comments I might have >.<

I'm a huge Zelda fan - but (funnily enough) I've never played any of the games longer than about five minutes or so. I love the storylines and characters, but the gaming system is just not my thing.
That said, I'm looking forward to Twilight Princess. :3 Maybe it'll be a game I can play!

actually it's becasue they wanted to change parts of it to make it more revolution compatible. Nintendo hasn't even hinted they're making two of the things at once.

Have you seen the trailers for LoZ: TP? They actually had a playable demo at the last Nintendo Fusion Tour, but they can't get the stupid game out on time... grrr...
Ummm... I don't know if I'd say it's better than the first, but it's definitely good... they retooled the combo system, so your weapons actually learn new fighting-game style combos as they level up, instead of just swinging more times in a row, and you get 4 different characters, who each use a different class of weapons. That means 4 HP meters. SWEET! Also, I believe 2 is based off the first ending from Drakengard, but it's been so long since I played it, I'm not sure...

I can't say I'm too wicked excited for any game release except Kingdom Hearts [forgive me, but my grandma has passed away last night and so I am emotionless right now, like I always am.] I think the Twilight Princess will be the second best thing right after Majora's Mask. Why? Because in Majora's Mask you actually got to play as a Zora!!! I love water as an element, and overall, and being able to be a part of the Zora, Gorons, and DEku's was certainly a very very ncie surprise. So why will Twilight Princess be awesome? Link shapeshifts, and then have you seen the effects for water?!?!?! IT's sooo crystal clear...real life, eat your heart out. You bet I will be swimming in the waters in TP so much, it'll annoy the shet out of my best friend. HA.

I bought a gamecube last summer for the main purpose of owning Twilight Princess. I'm one of those Wind Waker haters. As soon as I saw those cartoony graphics, well, a part of zelda died in me I think. Never have seen any actual gameplay from that :P
So... Have you ever actually played Wind Waker? Because it really is, IMO, a wonderful game. Yes, the graphics take some getting used to, but the gameplay itself can't be faulted. You haven't lived until you've used the grappling hook to swing down a mountainside, or watched Link show off even more of his growing dexterity by shimmying along a teeny-tiny ledge. And once I got used to it, I rather enjoyed his new look - finding secrets by watching his eyes flit to another part of the screen was a treat. And I get a kick out of travelling in the boat and finding rupees in the ocean (and running from groups of sharks ;) )... All in all, I think if you can get past the different graphics (which I grew to love long before I finished the game), Wind Waker is a kick*ss game that no Zelda fan should miss. It's just so much fun.
But that's just my opinion. :D
As for my favorite Zelda game... oh, which to choose? *lol* I love Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker ( ), Link's Awakening (the very first Zelda game I beat on my own, 'cause I'm a dork. ;) Heh), basically all of them...
...except the side-scrolling, hair-pulling hell that was Zelda 2 on the Nintendo. But then, I was very young, & I haven't played it since it was rereleased on the DS... Maybe I could handle it now. *is such an optomist*
Though truthfully, as much as I loved Majora's Mask, I never replay it like I do the other Zelda games - there's just too much in it I never want to do again. (The beavers, anyone?) So, not a bad game per se, but I don't get the replay value out of it like I do the other Zelda games I own (which is nearly all of them, as far as I know).

Yes, Wind Waker was a really great game, i too was put off by its graphical stylings, but, seeing as how it was a Zelda game, i had to at least try it. The only thing I truly didnt like was the fact that the story didnt fir with any of the other games.

Legend of Zelda= Greatest. Series. Ever!
Yeah, I am totally psyched about Twilight Princess. Its looking like Ocarina of Time may be forced to step down as the greatest game in the series. And for all you LttP fans, I dont want to hear your whining. I've played both games, and I like OoT better. And its NOT because of the 3D graphics. So if you have a problem with that, bite me :P

I would have liked OoT so much better if there was no Navi, or even less of her, like if u had already played the game, and didnt want to hear her, that you could turn her off.
ALttP is still the greatest Zedla game - followed closely by the 2 Oracle games.

*sighs* If I wasn't too cheap to shell out the money for a Gamecube, I would be infinitely more psyched about Twilight Princess. Right now I'm more psyched about dragging out my old N64 and having another go at Majora's Mask...my friend and I were replaying Ocarina of Time, but when we got to the last temple before fighting Ganondorf, the game crashed in the middle of a save and deleted our entire game. *weeps*
And I totally agree with Tsukasa about Navi. I tortured my friend while he was playing OoT by saying, "Oh, look, Navi wants to talk to you!" and reaching over and pressing the up-C button. Then he had to sit through all of Navi's little speech while burning with fiery hatred for me. Ah, the memories..:)

It's actually a good strategy to delay a game. It creates more people talking about it and hyping about how great its going to be. It increases anticipation. It also gets people re-interested in the old games if it is a sequel. Someone hears about how great the sequel is going to be when they haven't played the first. Then they start thinking "Maybe I should check this whole Zelda thing out." Then when it is finally released everyone talks about how it was totally worth the wait. All that still doesn't change the fact that delays are evil and annoying.

@whoever asked....
Actually, one of my friends, who's more of a gaming geek than I could ever hope to be, actually has beat Zelda 2. He actually showed it to me... it took him about 2 weeks, between school and work and playing... the guy's a crazy gamer...
As for my favorite LoZ, I'd have to say OoT was my favorite. The replay value for that game is infinite! My favorite temple was actually the Shadow temple.
My thoughts on Wind Waker, still, are that it looks way too kiddy-ish... yes, I bought it, it is an LoZ game, but I got it new for $8 at Fry's... there's no way I woulda paid $50 for that game... yes, it is slightly enjoyable, but I don't think I'll ever get over the way it looks... and as for Majora's Mask, it wasn't that bad a game, but being as you had to replay the game a million times just to beat it once, Nintendo effectively killed off the replay value, in my mind.
And I just hope that whatever they're adding to TP is really worth the wait, cause to get anything out of this current delay, everyone who's been waiting for it to come out has to buy a Revolution... not a bad marketing strategy, but the PS3 is coming out around that same time, and I don't make the kinda money to buy 2 new consoles at once...

Okay, so tell me how the heck the Revolution's gonna cost less than $100, and where did you find that info???
I know the PS3 will probably be at least $300, but it'll actually have games I wanna play on it... I'm an rpg guy, and Nintendo just doesn't seem to think we play any of those, so that's why I've bought about 10 times more games for my PS2 than my NGC... I don't really mind that they're holding back on it. I'd rather have them do the best possible job with Zelda and take a longer time getting it out than release it early and not be as good.

But seriously, I bought my GCN just for this. I'm really looking forward to being finally able to play it. ^^
