Every one of my friends is into manga now because of me and my friend Marc, We got a bunch of them hooked on Akira and Trigun, and then later on told them about manga, now I have a neat little circle of anime freaks to talk to.

Many of my friends who are into anime / manga tend to already like the same things that I do. With my wide range in tastes for manga, there are many similarities that my friends and I enjoy.

Example, I was talking with one of my friend during our Graphic Design class, and I was talking about Sorcerer’s & Secretaries. She said that she really enjoyed that one and asked about Dramacon, Mark of the Succubus, and several others as well. We both enjoyed all of those series thus far.

But as with all friendships we do have some differences. I like Battle Royale and Remote as well, and she never really got into them. But she has agreed to try them out if I agree to try out some of her other tastes as well. So we are currently exchanging and reading each other’s top picks to see what we think.

I gave one of my friends the first 3-4 volumes of Ragnarok, and my other friend volume 6 of Planet Ladder.

I've gotten about 8 people hooked on the Bleach anime, and about half of those on the manga as well. I've got my mom watching Wolf's Rain, my dad is watching Bleach and Blood+, my brother's watching Full Metal Panic- TSR, GetBackers, Rurouni Kenshin, Elfin Lied, Gravion, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Bleach. Got my sisters to watch Angelic Layer, DN Angel, Nadesico, Full Metal Panic! and FMP? Fumoffu, and Pilot Candidate... I've got my girlfriend watching Bleach, Kenshin, Kino's Journey, and GetBackers, and one of my other female friends loved Elfen Lied, has watched Kino's Journey, Evangelion, Avenger, Noir, and is currently watching Gundam Seed...
As for manga, can't seem to get too many people to read it... almost all the manga I own are right-to-left, and they can't really seem to get the hang of it, but I'm trying. I've got a couple to watch and read Please Teacher, and go over the differences between the two, so that was fun.

Once upon a time I went to my local library and saw a pretty book on the shelf entitled 'Fruits Basket', so I took it home and read it.
I left it sitting in the lounge one day, and I soon discovered my younger sister sitting there reading it and giggling at Kyon and Yun-yun and the rest. She demanded I get the rest of the series.
She then proceeded to distribute the series amongst her friends at High School. Soon most of the school were reading and gigling about Kyon and Yun-yun and the rest. (She did the same with FMA, Chobits, Bleach, Tsubasa Chronicle, etc.... )
So personally, no. I haven't convereted my friends into otaku fangirls (most of them were to begin with) but my younger sister almost singlehandedly turned the school into Kyon/Yun-yun/Haru fangirls...

I got my friend addicted to Death Note (anime and manga) and Immortal Rain. I got my mom (!!!) addicted to Death Note (anime and manga), Immortal Rain, Train Man (movie and manga), and Fullmetal Alchemist. I got my dad (!!!!!) addicted to Death Note (anime) and he's planning on reading the manga.

My friends and I have gotten each other into numerous series by swapping our graphic novels because it's so much more fun to share the fandom! I got all of my friends into Peacemaker, three into The Prince of Tennis, and one into Gintama.

In liek Grade 6 I got some into Yugioh, 7th grade I got one into Ranma, a couple into Sailor Moon, umm I even got some into Bible Black lol I tried getting one into Death Note this year but didn't work because he didn't like the idea of reading backwards... That's about. it :O

When naruto first came out in japan I tried to get all of my friends into it and they said it was stupid... I got over naruto and started liking bleach a while after it started in japan (like 6 or 5 volumes into the series?) and by then all of the friends who said naruto was stupid liked it now and I tried to get them into bleach and they said "that looks stupid have you read naruto?" ... etc. etc. so I've just got to say that recommending manga to my friends is useless.
