Hi,

I was wondering if I should make my manga so it's read from back to front, from right to left or use the traditional USA format. Would it be disrespectful to the japanese culture if my manga was read from front to back, left to right?

Any comments about this in general are very welcome! :)

Are you writing your comic in english? Then it should be read the way that your target audience would normally read: Left to right. Having it read the "Japanese" way or anything of that sort does not make it any more authentic or awsome. I don't think anyone would be offended... unless they are an elitist, crazy person... Ha.

Cool! :D I'm new to Manga so I wasn't sure if all Manga is done the japanese way.

I figure Manga is SO popular here in the USA now (my local barnes & noble is stocked with many manga comics) that maybe everyone is used to reading it back to front :)

The way how Asian text read:

From right to left if the words written vertically.

From left to right if the words written horizontally.

So, since English is written horizontally, manga page should draw from left to right.

There are, of course some Japanese manga are drawing from left to right when they're originally print on left to right mangaize...such as video game mangaize.;) The dialog is print horizontally on those manga.
