MegaTokyo (http://www.megatokyo.com) is an interesting story to read through. I only wish they would come out with the graphic novel versions more frequently. I currently have all three volumes they came out with, and would love to have the next one. But I understand that it may take some time, if they do at all. I just find reading an actual book to my liking above reading online.
But apart from MegaTokyo (http://www.megatokyo.com) , I also enjoy an online series called 9th Elsewhere (http://www.9thelsewhere.com) . I cannot really explain it that much, and this is somewhat going off topic from this topics main focus, so I will not even try. I just thought I would throw out my two cents.

Red String (http://redstring.strawberrycomics.com) - a lovely romantic manga-style webcomic that grew out of an unsuccessful RSoM submission, the first chapter has been rejigged since then. It's the story of a teenager who finds out she is bethrothed, what happens to her and lives & love lives of her friends too.
Misfile (http://www.misfile.com/) - due to a misfiling in the Celestial Filing Depository by Rumisel the pot-smoking-Angel, formely male Ash Upton is now a girl and Havard hopeful Emily McArthur has just lost the last two years of her life - along with her Havard acceptance letter and all the grades and accolades that got her into Havard! So now Rumisel has been kicked out of heaven and Ash and Emily's only hope is that he can get back in via doing good deeds before someone else notices the misfilings and makes them permenant! ...problem is Rumisel sucks at good deeds.

You can find a good amount of comics if you go to onlinecomics.org or .net, something like that. Search for it. That's how I found a bunch awesome ones.

I second these recommendations, especially Misfile. I want to be misfiled like Ash! :P

Technically "Doujinshi" means like, what? "Fan comic"? And it usually refers to comics/manga that are written as a fan parody or such of another comic/manga/story... much like Fanfiction and such. Anywho... I also know that it flat out SAYS "Doujinshi" on the website, so let's just asume they're fans of Japan or all things Japan and games and so on and so forth. hehe Then it's nothing to worry about! ;)
Aside from that little rant, I love this story! A friend got me hooked into it.... and I think it's really good. Cute, funny, sad, etc etc all of the above! I also read a bunch of other "Webcomics" ^_^ Dun feel like listin' them all here right now though!

Megatokyo is valuable in many ways--if any artists out there want inspiration, just look at the first few pages of MT and then look at the latest pages...Fred's art has progressed exponentially in the last few years.
Another thing about MT is that Fred G. has given the fans an amazing amount of access and input to the work creating something totally different from the traditional comic form. For some reason people really like getting on his case about the classification of his work--whether it is or is not a web comic or doujinshi--I fail to understand this. What does it matter what term we call it? it's a COMIC nonetheless, and it's free...that deserves respect.

I agree, I couldn't care less about how its classified, except that it's no doubt a pretty great piece of work.

I heard, a long time ago so it's not true, that Largo was getting dropped from the series. Did anyone else hear that? I got scared :\
I havetn' read it in a looong time 'cause the last time I was there the site wasn't working for me or something.

I really like it too. I don't think it's whiny at all. I think it's dealing with real stuff in a slightly different version of reality. Everything can't be funny and everything can't suck either. He's developing the characters really well and building the story in a cool way.
By the way, the next book will be coming out in early summer I believe.

Largo is not out of the Comic is just that the co-creator (Largo) sell his Megatokyo part to Fred. The character is still there. When Megatokyo stop being funny and left the 4 square desing that was the day he stop working with Largo(I dont know his real name sorry). The reason was because Fred wanted to develop more to the story and thats whats he's doing right now.

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doujinshi) ehjukate yo'self.
Dōjinshi (同人誌; often romanized as doujinshi) are self-published Japanese works, including but not limited to comic books (manga), novels, fan guides, art collections, and games, though this term usually refers to manga and novels only. They are often drawn by amateurs, but some professional artists participate as a way to publish material outside the regular publishing industry. The term is derived from dōjin (同人), meaning "literary group", "coterie", or "clique", and shi (誌) which means "magazine" or "distribution". Groups of dōjinshi artists refer to themselves as a circle.
Dōjinshi are made by artists or writers who prefer to publish their own materials. Avid fans of dōjinshi attend regular dōjinshi conventions, the largest of which is called Comiket (short for "Comic Market") held in the summer and winter in Tokyo's Big Sight. Here, over 20 acres of dōjinshi are bought, sold, and traded by attendees. Dōjinshi creators who based their materials on other creators' works normally publish in small numbers to maintain a low profile from litigation. This makes a talented creator's or circle's dōjinshi a coveted commodity as only the fast or the lucky will be able to get them before they sell out.
Over the last decade, the practice of creating dōjinshi has expanded significantly, attracting thousands of creators and fans alike. Advances in personal publishing technology have also fueled this expansion by making it easier for dōjinshi creators to write, draw, promote, publish, and distribute their works. For example, some dōjinshi are now published on digital media. Furthermore, many dōjinshi creators are moving to online download and print-on-demand services, while others are beginning to distribute their works through American channels such as anime shop websites and specialized online direct distribution sites.
i guess this answer ur question Ixis! PEACE! xD

Oh! This is the first manga online i ever read! It was OK. But I much prefer things like naruto, FMA, and Black cat.
So Megatokyo... Which is not self published... Constitutes being a doujinshi because it magically is a self-published work when it wants to be? Even if we were to go back in time to before MT was published in book format I don't think web publishing fits in the same vien. :/

Fred (the creator of Megatokyo) have the same problem we have here, it is a Doujinshi or not? well he answer that on top of the page of Megatokyo it says: "online comic/manga Doujinshi". He wrote that because nobody is sure about what it is so let stop with that please.

hybrid genesis (http://www.hybridgenesis.com)

There's a pretty good variety of genres in there, and they're all high quality (even if some rarely update or update irregularly)
And while we're discussing Megatokyo...in my personal opinion, it used to be entertaining, and is now confusing and poorly done shojo stuff. I do read it fairly often, but there's so much better stuff out there! Expand your online comic horizons XD

I love this series.
All you MT fans...Vol. 4 is coming out THIS MONTH on the 22nd, I believe, and will be published by CMX (DCcomics' manga imprint).
Megatokyo? Oh yea, lol. So far, I have the 3 volumes out so far. Been reading it for 2 years, and been with their forums for a year. Gotta be careful though. Their forums can be harsh, lol. In other words, kinda strict.
And man,.....can Fred RANT, lol. I love MegaGear...:p
