Hyung-Tae Kim is one of my favorite artists. His art style is so meticulously detailed yet at the same time it flows very smoothly. I love the very imaginative outfits he creates for his characters.

That, and his 2D designs carry over so fluidly to 3D models.

Awesomeness.

I believe there was an artbook released stateside that had showcased various artists' work, including Hyung-Tae Kim's. It was nicely sealed, so I didn't get a chance to flip through it. Does anyone happen to know what the title of that artbook was? I can't seem to find it anymore.

The one I have in my paws right now is called Japanese Comickers 2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060833300/ref=pd_sim_b_2/002-1862137-1468024?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155)

It showcases his work and even a step by step guide on how he painted one of his pieces. The book is well worth the price and all the artists showcased have a step by step guide to one of their works.

It's a love hate relationship with me. I like some aspects of it, but really disslike other aspects of it.

Over all though most of his pictures are nice, but some I just can't stand.

Hmm, let me guess: the overly busty ladies?

Hey, the boobies I have no problem with, it's the thighs that bug me. It's actually a recent thing he's been doing, before his drawings where perfectly fine.

Ah, yes, the big thighs. A good example of this is the cover of the Magna Carta PS2 game that was released stateside. I can see how that can be irritating. But the other aspects of his artwork more than make up for it. That's just my opinion, mind you. ;)

I don't like Magna Carta!!!!

I though I was playing a cute girl and it turned out to be a man, then I found someone else that I thought was a cute girl and it turned out to be a man too!

Actually that was my brother... you should have heard him scream when they started talking it was great.

The fem guys though isn't a Hyung-Tae Kim style though it's more a recent trend within character designs lately x.x

(Though... I still really don't like the game, the loading time sucks and the battle system puts me to sleep, but that is not the topic right now)

This game though is the series he's done that I find I don't like most of the art for. As I said the other ones are fine. The art for the first Magna Carta game for the PC was nice, the the PS2 sequel I was not found of. And not just the thighs, some of the character designs clothing wise were just not as appealing as they were in the first game, but still good in their own respects.

As I said, love/hate relationship ^^

Lol. I know, I thought Calintz was a girl at first when I saw him as well. There is something horribly feminine about him, isn't there? But oh well.

Here's a pic. I'm not going increase the size, just to show you what's in the book. He used both Photoshop and Painter for this.

From Japanese Comickers 2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060833300/ref=sr_11_1/002-1862137-1468024?%5Fencoding=UTF8)

I love Hyung-Tae Kim's artwork, but Magna Carta was a terrible game. If he makes another game, it should get more attention to making a battle system that doesn't suck. Better yet, he should try another genre besides RPGs...like fighters, dating sims, you know...

He didn't actually make the game, just the art for it.
