How long does it take to get rid of Pedophilic Porn on the Tokyopop website?
Entitled "Guys huggin"
http://www.tokyopop.com/SeXyNARU69/photos/10797.html
Right now it's been up for almost three weeks and making it's way to the top of the highest popped chart. Don't children view the site?

The manga is called Wild Rock. It's by Kazusa Takashima.
I own the manga that the pic is from, so I know it's a copyright violation, but it's not pedophilic or pornographic, though.

It is a copyright violation, so it should go.
That would be the other reason.
Now, as for everyone else who didn't think it wasn't a porn picture, look at it this way. The person who uploaded it called it "guys huggin". Hugging is a euphmism for sex. Then, when you take into account that both of them are naked and one is laying atop of the other, with one directly behind the other, there leaves little doubt.
So, Kaoru, Aratos, and AnimeDudde, could you tell me what they are doing then?
In addition, here is another post where the poster states that they knew it was adult oriented material and yet let even little children view it.

uh, not having sex. Sure there not exactly hugging but it doesnt have to be interperted as sex. In fact, ive never heard 'huggin' used in place of sex... But anyway, first of all its impossible to have sex in that position for two guys, because ~not going into detail unless wanted~. Second of all, there just naked and one is on top of the other, and since you cant see anything, that isnt considered porn or softcore porn at all.
Anyway, how the hell is this a copyright violation? Its in the Pictures section, not art. Does this person claim to have drawn this? If not why isnt it okay to show a picture that you like? I have a picture of Christina Aguilera in my 'Photos' does that mean I have to be Christina Aguilera? Or the Photographer?

Expressing there love for one another, with hugging. You're just perverted for assuming the sex part.

Eh, I dunno. If they're both naked and lying on top of each other, I'd call that sex.
I guess I assumed before that the older guy was wearing pants, but you can't tell from the picture. The book it's from is rated M though so assuming sex is not unreasonable.

You are indeed correct. Think of it this way: Would Post really want Tony the Tiger being portrayed in that way? It's a children's cereal icon.
Expressing there love for one another, with hugging. You're just perverted for assuming the sex part.
Am I? Then why are people calling it Yaoi?
Perhaps the definition of Yaoi might help: Stands for "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi" which means "no climax, no point, no meaning." Yaoi involves a male-to-male relationship often synonymous to shounen-ai , but more erotic in nature.
Now the question becomes this: "Why isn't this picture flagged as adult?"

If whoever created Tony the Tiger saw AniD's sig, they'll probably have a laugh and get over it. Unless it's some jerk that wants money and decides to sue. Then again it's the internet. Copyright is hard to control over something this vast.
The LotR Merry and Pippin 'yaoi' pic. Someone printed it out for them and they had a good laugh. Would have had a bit of a scare though...
What I'm trying to say is, yes it's adult material (referring to pics not avatar), yes it shouldn't be on the site, and yes, the mods for that part of the site will take care of it soon enough.
But you my good sir/lady, need to have a sense of humor. It's the internet for goodness sakes.
Approaching the people who violate copyright differently is also a good idea. I've noticed that the members you've warned are flaming you in reply. If you go about it a tad nicer they might not do that.
Eg: "Hey, I noticed your pic. It's nice and all, I like it. But it violates the code of conduct. Mebbe you shud remove it before the mods find it and do it for you. Or *GASP!* give you a BAN!"
And if they decide to be snarky back, THEN you can start getting serious.
Am I? Then why are people calling it Yaoi?
Because most of the members are around the age groups of 13-15. A lot of them can't tell the difference between Yaoi and Shounen-Ai. They probably have the pics up just to look good.

Actually, they would demand to have it taken down before they would threaten to sue, however it depends on the company. For Example: if they were sharing copyrighted songs, then the RIAA would just sue them.

Yet it has been up on the site since the 31st of July.

I doubt TokyoPop would find this humorous, and neither do I.
This is a business site and as such the rely on their reputation as a means to sell their manga and get more manga from Japanese publishers. It's simply bad for business to allow adult images to be seen to the general populace when your main fanbase is under 18.

I merely state the rules. No more, no less.
Because most of the members are around the age groups of 13-15. A lot of them can't tell the difference between Yaoi and Shounen-Ai. They probably have the pics up just to look good.
Regardless, they need to know that such material is unsuitable for this website.

@Vaddi, your rules are hard to read and understand, with a lot of big words in it. A thirteen-year-old isn't even gonna undersatdn it. The person who posted the image probably won't even look it over, its so confusing. And your tone is pretty nasty. No way in heck is someone gonna remove their picture after getting a message like that.
If you are really concerned for this site, why dont you try a different method that might actually work instead of just copy-pasting rules?

I think you are taking this way to seriously vaddi. I dont think Tokyopop has a problem with AniD's Sig. It funny and it not like he used it in a commercial its just a sig.
As for the image i think young kinds wont think more of it and big kids know better

When people don't understand copyright law, they ask me and I explain it to them this way:
I flagged your pictures because they were not only violating the terms and agreements of Tokyopop, but by posting them in this fashion, you were effectively stealing from the artists who made them. If you posted a link to the artist's site in your blog, then you could direct people to artwork that you liked <i>and</i> help out the artist through advertising revenues or purchases from their store. Without such help from their fans, artists would have to turn to alternative methods of earning money, which means that less good artwork would be produced.<br>
Would you really want that?
I think you are taking this way to seriously vaddi. I dont think Tokyopop has a problem with AniD's Sig. It funny and it not like he used it in a commercial its just a sig.
I never said that TokyoPop would be the ones who would have a problem with his signature (even though it violates the terms and conditions of this site), but that it would be Post Cereals and other copyright holders who would have the problem.
As for the image i think young kinds wont think more of it and big kids know better
Is that your personal opinion or an official one as a Moderator for the TokyoPop forums?
Regardless, the adult material can be easily made viewable by adults only through a simple click of a checkbox, yet SeXyNARU69 decided not to. She is also 17 (or claims to be) and should know that this image should not be viewed by children.

May i ask why youre taking this so seriously? Also i dont think one image will cost them money. I can understand if you would be making a fuss about Original Manga Scans or Scanlations but one Title page wont be that big a problem.
As for the signature we all agree that it didnt break the rules before him putting it up.

Question back at you but in reverse: Why aren't you? Aren't you supposed to moderate the material that is viewed on this site?

Actualy no i am a forum moderator that means i need to stop fights, flamwars and adult images on the forum or people who start discussions who will end up in fights like you are doing now. My mod abilaties have nothing to do with the main site and thus it is no point to continue complaining to us moderators or on the forum about it. If you have flagged it then let it be. You not the only one who flagged something and thus it will take a while before the site admin's will get to it. If this topic ends up into a fight you are the one who will be held resposible and thus you will be breaking the rules you hold dear.

Please, do forgive me. I thought that this board was supposed to be for questions and site issues. I was not aware that this was simply a board for questions and site issues for the messageboards.
I merely wished to address the topic to the administrators, to see if they had any power over the main site. You confirmed that you don't, but I assume that the TokyoPop Moderators (such as Peter) have the ability to communicate concerns or abuses to the main site. Fortunately, it seems that the TokyoPop Moderators have seen the image and perhaps its removal will be expedited.
If this topic ends up into a fight you are the one who will be held resposible and thus you will be breaking the rules you hold dear.
It seems that this line of your reply is designed to instigate further agression from me instead of diffusing the situation. In the future, you might want to take care with the words that you use in your role as a moderator. Perhaps if you truly wished to end this "fight" as you called it, you would have simply warned me and locked the thread instead of continued trying to instigate things further with me.
Regardless, I can see that any further discussion with you would prove fruitless, as you have already stated your opinion on the matter.
Thank you for your concern and input on this situation. I shall not post on this thread again.

Everyone, please calm down.
Yes, Vaddi has a legitimate point. And this is not an incorrect place to post it. However, the people with the real power to deal with the issue and clarify policy have been very busy and not had a chance to weigh in. Hopefully a mechanism for dealing with such matters in a more expedited fashion will soon be in place, but until that happens, I am sure they will appreciate your patience.
