As a game-loving guy at a manga company, I'm thrilled that I can now talk about the fact we're teaming up with Konami on a whole range of mobile games based on TOKYOPOP manga charaters and worlds.

I'm pretty geeked out to be working with Konami...they've taken plenty of my quarters back in the day. This is a great way to let gamers know more about manga and hopefully get them interested enough to read some graphic novels, too.

The first mobile game is based on Becky Cloonan's East Coast Rising.
The game has you defending New York from hostile New Jersey pirates and evil monsters. You sail the seas in the search of high adventure and fight the pirate ship Hoboken ...plus lots of other nasties. Visit the ragtag denizens of various destroyed and flooded East Coast cities using Map Mode. Enter Battle Mode and fire your weapons at a host of enemies on every voyage. Earn gold through successful battles to buy the repairs and supplies you need for keeping your ship and crew in top fighting trim. Strategy and planning are crucial if you hope to triumph over the villains at the end of each level. There's several difficulty settings and planned expansion pack downloads with more playable levels.

OMG this is the best thing to have happen to TP.
Besides a game, konami would also prob ( Later on ) present Tp manga's to become Digital Novel's. Ah .. tokyo pop has become even more worth publishing with.

Sounds like fun ... ^^
But are the games based on the manga? That's what I'm befuddled about ... O.o?

Yes, the games will be based on the manga characters and worlds.

And regarding console or hand-held development, there's nothing to announce on that front right now. But it's quite possible the Konami-TOKYOPOP partnership will grow in cool new ways. I'll let you know when and if it happens.

oh you can easily do that by making a yuki and kyo mugen character and fight them out there...

the hard bit is the sprite making and coding...but once past that...ur go to go and see which guy is the best...

me thinks a kingdom hearts parody but i dunno how many manga ka will give such permission...

i'm think yuki's hyper move is to summon a horde of mice to stampede across the stage and
kyo's transforms into that monster thing...and he does his attack and then tohru comes and hugs while saying "pls no more!" or "no! stop!"

lol just got an idea...dun take it seriously tho...y not make a metal gear solid parody...
the bishi boy chars must sneak around without being seen by any fan girls or else like in the game, they get surrounded by them and killed ripped to bits...instead of gun, they pounce and squeal at you and rip out bits of ur clothes and flesh...

weapons? the tranquilser gun, stun grenades, smoke grenades from metal gear....ur grapple move (one where snake chokes the foes)...you grapple the girl from behind and make her faint by whispering romantic promises in her ear....lol...

lol like the thing with the mags...you can drop piece of manga.

and you can use the camoflague system by hiding posing infront of posters...lol ok i'll stop now b4 i go overkill

That's a pretty good idea. Mixing manga and gaming. I definitely will try to buy one of the games if it is one staring my favorite mangas!
