A funny thing happened when I went to Borders today. I found a manga published by Tokyopop I had never seen on the website before. "The Voices of a Distant Star" volume 1, original name "Hoshi no Koe." I've looked around and I can find no entry for it in the books/series portion of the site, no mention at all really.

Does anyone know if it's actually been released, and why it's not featured on the site anywhere? I'm just curious about creator information, and a place to look for future volumes(I'm also curious if this is a freak occurence and that it's not due to be published for a while or something.) Thanks!

It's a brand new release that just came out this month. There's only one volume of it, though.

As for why it's not featured on the site... That's a good question. We'll have to look into that. Thanks for letting us know! ^.^

I highly reccomend the anime(under the same name). The creators name is Makoto Shinkai and he's been recieving alot of praise for his approach toward the world of anime in general. Most Best Buys carry The Makoto Shinkai Perfect Collection for 25$ and it comes with Voices of a Distant Star , Somewhere Beyond The Clouds(The Place Promised in our early days) , production books and an OST. Also if you decide to get it I highly ,HIGHLY reccomend watching She and Her Cat which is in the extras of Voices. It's a 5 minute short that won him alot fo acclaim and is the reason most people know him today. All three are great films and are worth the money.
