last i heard there have been 24 arrests and they are still looking for at leats 10 people.

It took you 24 hours to start discussing this even after I mentioned it on another thread? What's the world coming to?

Anyway, just thought I'd point out this has happened before: someone did blow himself up on a plane using explosives in a drink bottle with his watch acting as a remote detonator. The plane was fine and only one innocent was killed.

Now assuming we're definately talking about the events at Heathrow yesterday, give the British anti-terrorist folks some credit damnit! All the new reports in britain are concentrating more on the fact it happened, and the American announcements seem to be all "this reminds us our nation is at war etc etc". Mad.

Still not on-topic, but I've weeded out some of the off-topic replies to this thread. Which, btw, hardly anyone seems to be using to actually discuss the "thwarted terrorist plot". If anyone wants to have it remain open, all they need do is discuss it directly rather than posting "X people arrested".
