I Need Help!!!...with cosplay.

This year I plan on going to Otakon as Kairi from Kingdom Hearts II... and overall on just the whole "cosplay" thing I have nooooooo idea where to start... does anyone have any advice or help to offer??

Yeah, and try going to thrift stores or Sally's to find material. The thrift store has yet to fail me!

hey, if you have the money and some pictures you could get a custom costume made, there are quite a few good sites that do them....www.limebarb.com or www.inthestarlight.com to start with, both do custom but I'm not sure of the costs! XD

My suggestion is that if you live near a Jo Ann Fabric's store, sign up and become a "preffered" customer so that you can get coupons every couple of weeks, that you can use to buy the fabric you need. I know you can even sign up online on the Jo Ann Fabric's web site (www.joann.com) for their flyer. You'll start getting coupons in your email before you get any in the mail. Another thing is, dig around on Ebay for in expensive items to make props out of. You can also go to places like Home Depot and such to get things you may need. :D

first off, please, when people ask for help, POST A PICUTRE OF THE COSTUME, i don't want to have to google for the costume...now since no one gave you a definate answer, i will ^_~ i'm assuming your talking about this out fit, yes?

well starting from the head working my way down, here's a start:
if ya want, you can cut your hair or get wig, it's up to ya. the black chocker can be basic ribbion. the necklace can be made from jewelrey stones bought at joann's or you can buy one from e-bay. the shirt is a real basic pattern. the skirt is also really easy. the skirt looks like two parts. lavender shorts w/ a skirt over top. pretty basic, the arm jewelry is pretty basic as well. the shoes you can staple gun fabric to a pair of shoes...this is just a vauge idea of what ya want to do...but if you could say where you're having the most trouble, i could help ya more ^_~

I don't know where to start with the pattern, where to buy things, and good ways to do hair, but when it comes to putting the actual costume together... well let's just say after making my own halloween costumes (from patterns) since I was in 1st grade, I'm okay with sewing machines and improvising. Anything else you can offer kalas, would be great though!! Oh and I definitely need help with shoes... I can't find purple, white, and black converse chuck taylors ANYWHERE.

well for starters for hair you may try a wig...it would require some time and precision cutting ^-^...you may consider doing it to your own hair too. bring in the pic to the hair stylist and they be able to do it. now as for the pattern... it's going to have to be a bottis pattern for the pink over a white and black shirt...it would take some editing since you'd have to make it a bit smaller and have to add in the zippers...the skirt i'm assuming is a mormal cut just with the zippers, no? as for shoes, try to find white and pink convers...or buy white ones and dye them. take out the laces and put in thin black ribbon
as for where to buy supplies, try JoAnn's and Wal~mart (that's where i buy all my stuff)

custom shoes whould not be worth it X.X...first off, i don't think they appear that big...and second it wou ld save time and money just to get white ones and dye them...it's cheaper and you don't have to wait like 6 weaks for them to arrive...plus when you finish this costume, please post pics ^_^...i'd love to see the final product

also i forgot bout the gromots on them...the pink top has some...i warn you now: even tho she only has like 8 on the top, get 2 packets (22 come in a pack)...you'll need practice with them...they're evil, i HATE THEM XD
