This new sitewide redesign makes tokyopop.com one of the most unaccomodating sites I've ever been on.

That said, I have some questions regarding that mangazine.

Is there anywhere where we can look up the status of our subscriptions? I assume there is one issue per season, and I have not gotten an issue for spring or summer 2006. If I resubscribe, will I get the back issue, and if I resubscribe without having been unsubscribed, will I suddenly be getting two copies of everything? Chyeah...I'd basically like to know what is up with that thing. Nowhere on the new site can I find information on Manga Magazine. Heck, I can't even find a general FAQ. Every site, especially one as convoluted as this, should have a FAQ.

There is a FAQ is in the process of being made. It was mentioned in another thread about the new website.

As for Manga Magazine, the Summer 2006 volume came out just in time for San Diego Comic Con and was supposed to be shipped at the end of July.

i do not believe that there was a spring issue. i have four, summer 05, fall 05, winter 05, and summer 06. i could be mistaken.

You're right. There have only been four. At this time it looks like it will be coming out twice a year.

What? There were four? I only have 3 and the last one that came had Fruits Basket on the cover.

The 4th one just came out and may not have been delivered to all addresses yet.

Assuming your address information is still correct, yes. :)

Thanks. :D By the way, I really liked the glossy-ish texture of the cover for the third book.

Thank you for the information, everyone. I feel I can rest easier now.

So...whatever happened to that one website where you actually signed up for Takuhai? It was rather nice...and I can't find it anymore.

In the upper-left corner of the main page there is a place to get a TOKYOPOP.com profile. When you're signing up for that you can elect to have the magazine delivered to your home.

I saw one with Fruits Basket on the cover and also someone mentioned one that featured the San Diego Comic-Con. I was wondering... what if I registered and subscribed for the Manga Magazine during mid-July and then resubscribed for it (because of the launch of the new website) during August? Will I eventually get the magazine? I've been waiting for it (like everyone else), but it hasn't been delivered to my address yet.

Sorry for the inconvenience, :o , I know you and the other mods are probably annoyed about this topic, but I was kinda curious. Well... lemme know (Peter or anyone). Thanks.

I guess my question isn't going to be answered, so we'll just have to wait. =\.

EDIT

Got help from Will on a recently-made thread. Hope it works.

Winter 2006 was the last issue I got in the mail. Spring has come and gone, and summer is almost over. I didn't cancel my subscription or anything. Should it have stopped? Was there no spring issue? Should I have done something to keep on receiving the magazine?

Thanks in advance.

The summer issue was just recently mailed out. If you have not seen it yet then you can drop an email to the webmaster@tokyopop.com account. Send your name and mailing address to the address and they can see about trying to get you another issue. Not sure how many are left but at least try.

Also, make sure you have your correct mailing info in your current profile on the main site too and that the box to receive the magazine is definitely checked.

Ah, thanks Will. I should do that too since I didn't get one either.

Not a problem. Again, not positive how many copies are left, etc. but we'll try our best to get some out to folks that missed them while supplies last. :)

I just got my magazine in. All I have to say is WTF happened? I used to look forward to these mags and now I just get some thin filler pages. Maybe next time.

I got mine yesterday, too. Lotsa fun and unexpected. ^^

I loved the section with the manga coming out later this year. Now I know when to expect things.

Dangit, looks like with the site redesign, it may have booted me from receiving the magazine. I'm signed up again, but I probably won't get the summer issue. Oh well. Maybe it didn't boot me out until I redid my profile a few minutes ago. My address was still on file, but the checkmark was unchecked. I won't know until I receive it or not.

The Summer 2006 issue was rather disappointing... It felt more like a bunch of ads. :(

By the way, if anyone can get or give me their Fall 2005 issue, 'twill be much greatly appreciated.... I'll even be willing to go up to a reasonable price for it. :)

BTW, the new design for Tokyopop.com is rather icky and cluttered, IMO. :(

I know what it's like, guys. When I moved, I never got my fall 2005 issue. (see my siggie, people, please send me a copy :)) I didn't get it in my old or new address. If either Tokyopop or a member can send me a spare copy, it would be greatly appreciated...

My issues come in normally now, though, and I actually just got my summer '06 issue yesterday. ^-^

I was wondering if the free manga magazine was a montly thing and if it be more interactive other than letters to editors would you give people a demo shot byputting one or two pages of a fans manga in ur magazin to see what we think or have more contests and other stuff even though theirs been about only 1 issue would these things be something to think about??

As for Manga Magazine, the Summer 2006 volume came out just in time for San Diego Comic Con and was supposed to be shipped at the end of July.

I received a copy of Tokyopop Sneaks at the recent anime convention in Vancouver, Canada. I was very excited to sign up for your Takuhai manga magazine and followed the link you have in the ad on the inside cover. (www.tokyopop.com/takuhai) Unfortunately the link leads directly to someone's profile? Is there another way to subscribe to your magazine? I am an avid manga buyer and would love to learn more about upcoming books and artists etc. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated! With thanks in advance, Indigo.

Well! That is certainly interesting.

You picked it up in Vancouver? Unfortunately, Manga Magazine only delivers to U.S. addresses, so if you live in Canada, the only way to get it is to have it sent to a U.S. friend's house and have them forward it to you. :(

If you create a profile on the TOKYOPOP website, during the signup process it will ask if you want the free magazine sent to you.

I agree, There wasn't many manga samples, and the magazine seemed to be one big advertisement... it really was disappointing.
