I just recently got into Bleach, but I'm loving it almost as much as Naruto. There's a rumour that the anime's been licensed to Viz... let's hope not, look what they've done to Naruto ;(

I love Bleach too! I can't wait to see Ichigo's Hollow transformation! I've just wached until episode 29 so far, but that's because my country doesn't air great anime, and I'm watching it online on this website that provides great quality anime, but updates only on Mondays and Thrusdays.

I love Yoruichi and Hitsugaya. So Bleach is finally licensed! Yay! It'll be nice when dvds are released. ^_^ I think Viz will do a good job with it especially if it comes on AS. I'm hoping they use Bang Zoom. Altho the sub will always be my preferred Bleach watching method. Altho..I'm sorta bummin at the moment on how the fillers are contradicting the manga I wonder how that's gonna work out? *shrugs* I guess that was all sorta off topic..sorry...err...Yay Hitsugaya and Yoruichi!!!!

I'd like them to use California dub talent (Bang Zoom, only Viz uses Studiopolis) too but I've heard they they might use Ocean (Vancouver). I don't want them to use Ocean, I hate Ocean... if people think Naruto's dub is bad Ocean is waaaay worse :'( Then again I guess it's a matter of tastes, I just don't like Ocean...

There are a lot of actors from Bang Zoom in Studiopolis soo *shrugs* I hope they don't use Ocean either but maybe even they could pull it off? Even if the dub is horrible... I'm really just looking forward to some subbed DVD releases lol. Altho I seriously hope I like the dub. Bleach is such a great story I'd hate for it to go down in dubbed history as bad *aka One Piece style* for those who will only see it as a dub.

Its the current big shonen jump anime, just like Naruto, One Piece and DBZ have been in the past.

It is a good show, just not really as AMAZING!!!!!1111one as some people make it out to be.

My brother got me into this series and we both enjoy it a lot. Were up to the filler arch which my brothers not to happy about. The soul society arch was the best of the series so far in my opinion.

I signed up on the official site, well, tried to anyway. It wouldn't let me acess it, and I never got a reply e-mail. I kept hearing great things about the Manga and wanted to check it out before i wasted $15.00 on something that turns out I possibly won't like.

Not only does the dub version cut out many great and wacky dialogue out of the original to keep up with the pace of the characters, they cut out lots of great Japanese puns too just so that it makes sense in English. Boo hoo. The sub version explains all the puns and some of them are very helpful in learning Japanese too

What dub version? There is NO DUB VERSION at this time. Why complain about something that is vaporware? Who knows what they will do with it when it eventually gets dubbed, for that matter. DVDs are dual language, abuse it.

I recently got in to Bleach to, but now I'm caught up to the recent ones. I think its a really good show, I like it better than Naruto.

I think Viz normaly does a good job with anime, they just messed up Naruto because they got alot of complaintes about lisensing the show ( according to anime news network).

I think that Viz has done a much better job with Naruto then they've ever done with anything else. If it wasn't for Naruto then when I heard Bleach was licenced(ARG I CANNOT SPELL THAT WORD) by Viz I'd be like "Ewwwww Viz" hehe I really don't know why so many people have a problem with it...

Erm anyway, I havn't been keeping up with the most recent episodes of Bleach but I have seen some screencaps from some episodes with Hanatarou in the human world? Whats up with that? Can anyone tell me?

Excellant anime and excellant manga! Hmmm... it was almost like a guest appearence... i haven't watched the latest episode but Hanatarou did say something about his captain giving him permission to see the other world. And well he did. The poor guy needs money cos he wanted food to eat! poor guy... gets thorwn out of everywhere and even gets run over by Ichigo and the gang. I think i'm right... correct me if im wrong guys!

I love Bleach, in my opinion its one of the best animes I've ever seen. I've seen all the episode that are out, but I'm only on #3 of the manga. I really hope VIZ didn't get its hands on Bleach because they totally ruined Naruto and I don't want that to happen to Bleach too.

Bleach is awesome. Its my favorite manga and the anime is really good too besides the filler arc that is haha. my fave characters are Uryu, Byakuya, and Ichigo although pretty much everyone is cool except Don Kanonji haha although he's funny.

Bleach is basically the next Inuyasha or Naruto, I just see it that way. It was bound to get liscensed soon and it did. Probably faster then Inuyasha and Naruto because I think those got liscensed in their 100 episode marks...I THINK.

It's still a good show, but with the current filler arcs...it doesn't look too good. I just hope it won't drag on with lots of fillers more to come. ^^;;

I'm just worried about Rukia's voice, I can just IMAGINE them picking a really high voice. As much as I thought Rukia was a guy in the beginning and having a low voice didn't help, I've gotten use to it. Without the low voice, it's not Rukia! >.<

And why couldn't they keep words like Chuuin, and ninjitsu. I bet for Bleach they'll change Zanpaktou and probably some of the other terms like Vizard and Bankai.

As for fillers, i think its a delay for the manga to get ahead. The anime caught up so fast.

Im gonna respond to you for my sister since i read both the fan translations of the manga and the Viz translations. The Viz translation is not censored the only diffrence in that in fan scans they say Shinigami and in the Viz translation they say Soul Reaper(which is the official translation for Shinigami in Bleach). Sometimes when im bored i'll pick up a Viz version of the manga and compare its translation to fan scans translation and there pretty much exactly the same. Sometimes in a fan scan there will be a "damn" while in the Viz version it will be like a "urgh" or something but thats it. Viz did a great job so yeah check it out.

Yeah i agree i am a little dissapointed with Naruto however i dont feel that its horrible y'know. You never know how Bleach will turn out it could be one of the best dubs ever like Bebop for all we know y'know. Also i doubt that they will change words like Zanpaktou, Vizard, and Bankai that would cause to much trouble with matching lip flaps and also Viz handles the manga translation which is very good and it keeps all the original terms. I doubt that they will change.

However, regarding FMA. I hated that they censored the dead of Baske Gran(Spelling). He had one of the most awesome deads in the series.

About the differences in the anime and manga... I'm waiting for the filler to end before I watch any of it, cause I'm one of those people who'll sit down and watch a series in bricks of episodes. I can deal with watching adapted manga week to week, cause I know what's gonna happen. And for anyone who hasn't kept up with all 219 chapters of Bleach, once they do get back to the manga, this show is gonna put a boot in your ass and leave it there...
As for the licensing, I'm worried about whether or not Viz does a good job, cause I know people who'll only watch anime in English, and if Viz doesn't do a good job, it'll ruin the show... I really don't care, cause I'll watch it in Japanese with subs, but it's the little people I'm worried about with only cable/satellite and no money to buy the uncut bilingual DVD's... Please, Viz, think about the poor people!

Hey thanks for anwsering my question i thought that was the Ironblood Alchemist's name. But yeah once the anime gets into the recent manga chapters arc its gonna be so awesome. I also agree with you on how it should be good for people who dont like to watch subs or arent able to watch subs and still really like the Bleach manga and storyline and such y'know. Anyway, I'm not bias against dub's but Viz hasn't exactly brought forth anything of good quality. So if it does dub Bleach... Well, lets just say I don't have very high expectations.

Yes, unfortunately Viz officially got a hold of Bleach, and they say they're going to really milk it for all it's worth. I'm very afraid that the voices are going to suck, but the good thing about it coming to America is the fact that all of the merchandise will as well ;) . VIZ should start a forum so they can at least view our input. I mean..the moderators here are really good about answering questions and showing for our ideas and such in like the Manga forum and Ask the Editor and such. Viz should take a hint from TokyoPop.

They did that with the Gintama manga online at the Shonen Jump website i think they should do it with Bleach as well it'd be awesome.

I'm very afraid that the voices are going to suck, but the good thing about it coming to America is the fact that all of the merchandise will as well ;) . Ichigo and Zangetsu first talk in episode 20-21 thats when Ichigo first learns Zangetsu's name though and he gets his shikai

Ichigo talked to Zangetsu again in his fight with Zaraki Kenpachi when Zaraki had the upper hand. This is the fight that your talking about when Zangetsu quotes that he'll lend Ichigo his power and have it never rain again. this fight happens some where between episodes 36-39 (i think that conversation is definitely in eps 38 or 39 not sure though so you might want to check all 4).

I'm gonna try and flimsily defend my choice of Mr. Freeman for Ishida... I'm imagining the voice of Zelgadis from Slayers, and Albedo from the Xenosaga games... If I remember correctly, he used a really even-toned voice as Zelgadis, and as Albedo, his voice actually got a bit higher than normal, so I think he COULD pull it off, if the voice director tried to get him to... haven't thought of any others yet, I actually have to go through all my series and try watching them in english to pick out VA's... pretty much, I can only watch Bandai dubs, cause ADV's dubs are pretty much all crap...

Heh... I was an early adopter. I actually noticed this series when VIZ did a special on it in Shonen Jump before they even published the first volume. Now I've got the the first 63 eps archived on DVD's, and burned as DVD-Video, I've seen up through 88, and I own all 13 english volumes, and up through 21 in japanese. 22 is out, but I'm waiting for 23, cause shipping is ridiculous, so I like to buy two at a time.

And I personally like the filler. It may not be as great as the manga storyline, but it definitely doesn't suck. As for whether or not it ruins the plot of the manga, I don't think it does. Yeah, it's been showing Ishida training to try and get his powers back, but he hasn't been able to, and it sorta sets the stage for when his father approaches him and offers to give him his powers back, in exchange for him never helping the shinigami again.
Plus, I think the filler arc may end at the end of this season. It started at ep 87, so 12-13 episodes would get us to 98-99, so either 99 or 100 could go back to manga storyline. YEAH!!!

Like the whole role of "soul of society". This is supposed to be an actual place for the dead, basically a spirit world and yet it seems even in this world people may die again and that includes people like ichigo with the superpowers and stuff.
I guess my point is if that person in soul socitety is already dead from the real world, how is that possible that you can die again when you're only supposed to be a spirit.
There are alot of things in this anime which i don't understand and i'm guessing by far how this anime is processing, it ins't about knowing this or that but just basically playing on the simple basis. Like for instance, a story with not that much importance but what focuses more it's an all-out action. Something like DBZ but way more cooler and more significant. I really love the show but i hate when things are unexplained.

Of course shinigamis are old, all of the back stories take place hundred years or more before the main story line. How far are you in the series.

Only one shinigami in the series has died that I remember and that was Kaien Shiba and he was killed by a hollow. I believe a spirit can be killed by another spirit. I also think characters can be reincarnated and that Ichigo is the reincarnation of Kaien.

I'm pretty sure they explained this early in the series, right around when Ishida shows up. Souls go back and forth between Soul Society and the living world. If souls go to SS when they die in the living world, then one can assume that a soul FROM SS would be reborn in a human in living world when they die. As for Kaien-Ichigo, it is possible, but they never make mention of how long ago he died, since Rukia was already with 13th squad. So it might not have been long enough in the past. Plus, the manga already explained where Ichigo's strange spiritual powers come from, so he doesn't have to be a Soul Reaper reincarnated to explain them. I believe it's the end of volume 21... (I buy the japanese releases...)

Wow i never would have imagined since i didn't really consider Bleach to be that similar to YuYu hakusho. The only exception would be The soul society/spirit world but after that it is just two different anime. However if you were to tell me about Naruto being close to other anime then i'll tell you that it is plain Obvious. I don't think anybody in the majority has thought of Bleach of being one of the greatest but it is however one of the most entertaining show from now. Relatively just how i used to enjoy Dbz long ago it's the same as it is for this show.

I don't think anybody in the majority has thought of Bleach of being one of the greatest but it is however one of the most entertaining show from now. Relatively just how i used to enjoy Dbz long ago it's the same as it is for this show.
Oh I found alot of people loving this series even beyond Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist, saying that Bleach is one of the greatest animes in the world and I guess it's been building alot of hype for those people who haven't seen the series yet. I guess I can call it "overrated."

It sure is. bleach is not that great of a series and it has went down on my list after the new arc in the manga started, since its just like soul society arc. "come on Tite think of something new."

I don't think his voice was "ruined." It could have been better but it could have been worse. I thought his voice sounded tolerable. Or perhaps I'm a bit biased (I kind of like the voice actor for some reason).

I just started watching bleach and I'm around episode 50. I've already started writing fanfiction, but I have a question that's pretty fundamental, so please be kind, lol.

Do the captains and vice captains and the other people in the Gotei 13 go to the living world and fight hollows? if not, what do they do? and who fights the hollows? because rukia was fighting hollows, so do all of them do that?

I'm sure they fight the more powerful hollows and stuff. The weaker hollows are probably just given to the "flunkies."

They go fight higher classed hollow. Also, when in their down time, they do normal stuff like work, shop, and other meaningless stuff not meantioning.

I was watching sub in the hallway and one of the girls in the locker next to me goes, "Wow, I don't know how you watch things with subtitles like that. I can't read most of those words anyway. Like what's that? Dubiously?"

My friends and I always break awkwards silences now with, "What's that? Dubiously?"

I'm currently watching the bleach marathon on Cartoon Network.

Oh my...this dub is...erm, interesting. It seems a little awkward and the voices kind of fake...Ichigo's voice is pretty good, though. Kon was good too...

It's ok. It's not unbearable but it's not the best. My friend hates it though. She yells at me for watching the dubs :p I like Johnny Bosch (does the voice of Ichigo). He voiced for Vash from Trigun and Kiba from Wolf's Rain. He was also a power ranger, which is mostly why I like him :D

I have heard the voices of bleach in english and it aint the same sound better in english orihime's voise is gay lol but yeah fave characters are of course Gin (he rocks) Aizen and Ukitake nad Yoruichi but mainly gin hehe

I wuv bleach my favorite character is Rukia she is so awsome.....I hate some of the voices in English..I first started watching bleach in English so I was like this is Freaking Awsome...but then I got sick of waiting for the new epis so I just watched it in Japanese with English Subs and stuff. I basically watched half of the series in Japanese on youtube. Then I finally watched some of the shows in english and I couldn't stand there voices. I wasn't use to it at all. But still Bleach Rox

Renji just sounded too "gruff." I know he doesn't have quite a smooth voice in the first place but it just sounded so... "off."
Byakuya... I don't know. Compared the Japanese version his voice in the English version doesn't sound as cool and... smexy. XP

The English Bleach voices aren't actually that bad, atleast they didn't butchered it like they did Naruto =/, theres no sqeeky voices on Bleach.

Having English version also brings a good thing, it actually promotes Bleach love to everyone, may it be in English or Japanese.

When I first heard the English Bleach, made me appreciate the Japanese version so much more LOLZ.

Common, it's very common already to see characters shouting moves names and things like that, something new would be nice even thinking there's almost no way to run from it... Well i dont know bleach so well to speak about the moves that they performance, i just can tell that guys using moves is a common place, in otherwords, a cliche.

The words they shout arn't usually that long, so just think of it as learning Japanies the FUN way!!

And as far as who I think has the best moves, I'm gonna have to as Zangetsu. His appearances are short and few, but I'v never seen any of the other Zanpaku-to do anything near as complicated as the tricks Zangetsu uses to train Ichigo.

for all you's info, Kon is a lion, not a bear. And yup, Bleach is currently my fav anime/manga. The english voices are okay, I like Ichigo's voice and Uryu's, Orihime's is the stereotypical high pitched girly voice. I hate Byakuya's voice and Renji's voice. My fav characters are Ichigo, Uryu and Kenpachi Zaraki!

Actually, Kon is a "Kaizo Konpaku" or mod[ified] soul.

The bear/lion is just a stuffed animal they found on the street and put Kon in.
