You know when you go over to conventions and you see that one person on there that's dressed up the best in the best costume?

YEeeeeaaaaHhhhh...tell me about yours. I have pictures of me being Lulu at Megacon, ill try putting them up later....

I saw that one little person from Katamari Damacy! I hugged her :3

I love cosplaying. I'm currently finishing up my costume for JACON. Last year I had made a costume that was based on the front cover of the first volume of Othello. Half of the costume was very girly and the other half was all black. For metrocon I'm going to work on the Possessed doll costume like my sig says. Later this year I'm hoping to be able to cosplay "wasted 13" from WXIII-Patlabor the movie 3.

I always love seeing Lulu cosplayers. They usually have such great detail and accessories. It's usually very well done and I bet you looked great! Hope you get around to putting a picture up of yours! I keep telling myself I'm going to cosplay Lulu but then I feel as if I don't have the bust for it and move on to a new character. ^_^

It was funny though how people always crossdress, but I had never seen a LuLu cosplayer that was actually A GUY...

so yeah......freaked me out

When you go to an Convention you see everything under the sun.
From horribly bad, to cross dressing to "Oh god put some clothing on" people.
I can't believe all the diversity at a convetion.

But I haven't done a lot. This year will be a bit different, I'm starting early to make a more elaborate EGL looking dress. [x

'Father' from Azumanga Daioh was my freakiest experience. During the cosplay comp the host suddenly yells 'OMG' and points. I turn around and this HUGE orange 'Father' is standing behind me. I was so freaked out lol.

I love to cosplay ...
It would be better if I knew how to sew, though. ^^; I have to buy most of my stuff online. My first cosplay is the picture on my signature - a red mage from the game "Disgaea". Apparently, it's quite unknown, and I found people mistaking me for Chi or a Xenosaga character.
This year, i'm planning to crossplay Watanuki from xxxHolic (neko outfit on volume 1 cover), and asking my friends to be moro and maru ... ^^

I totally agree. Not only that but I cannot sew and I'm too broke to buy the items online. I'm just thankful to all those cosplayers for making anime conventions all the more interesting and worthwhile to attend.

I've never been to a con without cosplaying...(wow I never realized that until now) My sewing skills aren't that great either, I can hem and I can do some handsewing *like putting lace on the edge of stuff* Most of my costumes are pieced together, so don't get too discouraged^^ Cosplay is fun, you meet a lot of interesting people.

As far as interesting cosplays go, I've seen someone do ph34r b0t from megatokyo, someone going around as a giant pocky box, someone did doumo-kun (spelling?), as well as someone dressed as Tomoyo-hime from Tsubasa (in 4 inch geta shoes, might I add x.x). I hit every major con in Texas so I see a lot of neat outfits.

I'm going to be cosplaying as Fuu from Samurai Champloo at Anime Vegas in September. I haven't finished my costume yet, though... I really shojld get the rest of the fabric I need.

But I'll be sure to get photos as soon as I'm finished! I'm even growing my hair out so I can have the total Fuu look. BIG consolation, since I hate my hair long.

Why are so many ppl scard to cosplay at conventions?? I guess I just don't understand why some ppl don't want to stand out in a crowd and not be noticed.

I don't know why for other people. As for myself, I'm just not all that great at cosplaying while other people are so friggin awesome. It's a bit of inferiority complex, I guess. But when I do get really good, I will cosplay at conventions.

Everyone has to start somewhere. To me, I know people who's work is better than mine, but I just do the best I can. This way when I wear it, I can with confidence because I know I'm presenting my best effort. Also, the more times you cosplay to a con, the easier it becomes.

I don't dress up but the best one I saw was actually noface at my first sugoicon. It was hella tall and they had it hooked up inside so that it could lean down at different angles and it followed people around.
it was hilarious and really well done. everyone else that i've seen that did noface just put a black sheet over their heads.

Even though this is my first Con, I feel like I'll be more comfortable and stick out less in a costume. You know, like I already belong there. ^^

That's not necessarily true. o-o
People look at you more in a costume lol
There are a lot of people who don't dress up at all!
well I guess it depends on which one.. o-o what one are you going to?
My friend aalways cosplays when she goes and I think this last time she almost couldn't because it wasn't done or something and she got all, "fteauitj ea XOOOOO!" on me when I said that she doesn't always have to and she said it's not fun unless you cosplay.. lol wth I'm thinkin' like, "Oh gee so I never have fun when I go but I pay the 30/40 dollars to go anyway. Why? I don't know. I guess I like wasting money"

Actually, I just saw all the pictures of last year's Anime Vegas, and it looked like a lot of fun. Plus, I always wanted a kimono. ^^

I love cosplaying. It's the best thing about conventions.

I've done three costumes for myself and two for others. All sewen by hand and all painted by hand when required.

First year - Yuna from FFX: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/slyabney/Costume/yuna.jpg

Second year - Fina from Skies of Aracadia: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/slyabney/Costume/fvstacie.jpg

Third year - Yuna from FFX-2 International + Last Mission:

Over in Japan, they have similar thing but it called events and get this some will have you pay to cosplay? That is dump thing I have ever hear, I glad I live in the U.S. where I can cosplay for free (-the supples and sewing machine to make you cosplay).
