View Full Version : What's Your Style?
TonightMidnight

So. What's your style?
"Goth," "Prep," "Punk," "Gangsta," "Hip-Hop," "Surfer," "Skateboarder..."
The stereo-typical names go on and on and on. But what group do you fit into according to your clothing choice or style?
I guess I'm weird...but as for me, personally, I don't think I fit into any of these groups according to the way I dress. I just wear...random clothes. One day I'll come in with a collared shirt, the next day I'll be in all black, but the day after that I'm wearing Baby Phat or Roca Wear. Maybe even a traditional Chinese top.
We even did some kind of exercise in a class where the teacher asked us to put each other in catergories...but when it came around to me no one could figure out what group I belonged in. So I was actually placed in the Miscellanious group. xD Yup. You read right. The Miscellanious group...which consisted of only me. It was hilarious.
So what about you?

Right now it's hip, hop. I like to sag, but I wear a belt and make sure my shirt drops at least to my mid-thigh. I don't think it's cool to show everyone your boxers(or whatever you wear under there). But in a few months it will be a bit of surfer. The weather is mostly hot in Florida, I hear.

non-conformist. Usually wear a combat jacket, a t-shirt and jeans, but sometimes varies. Not seen any group that dresses like that yet.

I'm a sucker for accessories. I have tons of purses in my closet and a jewlery box full of earinings, necklaces, braceletes, watches, ect. You could take the ugliest outfit and make it into a hit if you have the right accessories.

I don't wear jeans. I haven't worn jeans outside of getting grubby in in over six years.
I shop from Supply Sgt., Le Chateau or Banana Republic, and my t-shirts are from whatever athletic store or Old Navy. I tend to wear cargo pants a lot. I'm a sucker for pockets and that semi militarish look.

I don't really stick to a certain style I just wear what I like. One thing that I know about what type of clothes I wear is that I definitely don't like jeans that much, I usually wear combats.
Oh and jewellery-wise, I like wearing bracelets and necklaces made of precious or semi-precious gems that are supposed to mean something like knowledge, power, strength, patience, etc. My favourite necklace has a pendant of a purple jade hoop with a silver dragon twisting aroung it.

Nothing.
I don't think these labels apply nearly as much during or after college as they do in High School, though I'm sure that depends on where you go.
The one defining thing about my wardrobe, though, is that 19 times out of 20, I will wear a skirt/dress of some sort. It's pretty rare overall for me to wear pants, as I just don't like them.

VisK, Decora, asian street fashion cross. I adopt the 'hip-hop' look for some parties or events (comfort and ease)
I have lesportsac/tokidoki, Super Lovers, Juicy Couture and Hysteric Glamour, DKNY, FCUK, Tommy, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Suburban, Purr, Prince of Portobello, Industrie, Nike, Adidas, Puma, small asian independant brands etc. Like those. I wear vintage too if I can find it. Which isn't too hard nowadays.
I would LOVE to be able to get ANYTHING Vivienne Westwood or L.A.M.B. But right now it's out of my price range.
On the side, I also do cosplay and Ama(sweet aka 'pink') Lolita but only when asked for club/volunteer meetings or events.
I HATE surf wear with a passion. But that's probably due to the fact that I'm in Aust and alot of girls(not asian mostly) wear that sort of thing. Which is barely nothing at all. It's the whole bleached hair thing as well. Also it's the 'trend' and normally the surf brands are crap quality. Thankfully people in my age group are more into vintage than surf.

Some people dress like that in my area. We've got a Pacsun (Pacific Sun) store in the mall. But the thing is...they don't even surf. And there are barely any beaches around. And the waves at the beaches aren't good enough to carry a board. xD People should just quit.
I just wear anything that I think looks good. I'm currently trying to get my hands on some "Triumvir" merchandise though. Like a hoodie or something.

It's more annoying due to the fact that I live 2hrs away from the beach. Or swimmable lake or river. So wearing 'beach' clothes just seems so idiotic. Especially when they're dumb enough to wear it in winter too.
My area is slowly converting to punk/emo/skater style though. From the 5 surf shops in my area, 2 of those are changing to skater, 1 is changing to street/vintage, and 2 new stores have opened. 1 street(Onisuka, Adidas, Industrie etc) 1 skater(Volcom, Emily the Strange etc)

Black. Lots of black. People tell me it's Goth/geek. I tend to wear a lot of geeky shirts with TRIPP pants or something. I'm not really gothic though, i just like black and have been wearing it in excess since elementary school. :/ Black is just easier to wash, keep clean-looking, and to match. And on the off chance that I do wear blue jeans, people tell me I look skater-ish, which I don't get at all. *shrug* I also wear a bit of camoflage since my siblings and I grew up playing paint ball and such so we've always had it around. Also, BDU pants are the most comfortable pants to wear ever. They're my lounge pants, and in the winter I even sleep in them they're so comfortable.
I usually wear clothes two or three times before I wash them, which a lot of people don't know, since I always fold them and keep them clean smelling.
When it gets colder I wear long sleeved tees under short sleeves, and when it get even colder I've got a plain black hoodie. Took me forever to find a plain black hoodie without any labels, designs or logos on it BTW. >__<

I don't really have one specific style. I like jeans and t-shirts. Sometimes I wear blue jeans. Other times, black. I have a few pairs of jeans with embroydery (sp?) on them. I also have a pair with little crystal things glued on them.
As for t-shirts, I like them interesting. My favorites have a band logo, picture, or design on them. I mostly get them from Hot Topic, Torrid (not the best quality, but they look good), and DEB. There's also this one store that I went to that sold all these rock band t-shirts. I was in heaven. I would have bought this one yellow shirt with an album logo there, but I had already bought a plain yellow shirt and drew the logo on, myself.
I've noticed that I wear a lot of black and somewhat baggy clothes. I don't like tight clothes. I don't like palin clothes either.

The people at my school seriously make fun of me when I wear (extra) ears. It's soooo mean I don't wear them any more. And after I wore them I had to go home and plot revenge against anyone and everyone who called me a "playboy bunny"
So after that little spazz, I dress a little more with the crowd. Still black with a bit of white or red. I like ribbons now, and peticoats. Usually black soccer shorts or black pants. Semi-fancy shirts or shirts from various rabbit competitions.

Gothic Lolita clothes are so expensive. I've been stuck wearing plain American clothes (no offense to those who love wearing American clothes, but I just don't like them) that aren't as expensive. However, that's gonna change because my friends are making Gothic Lolita clothes, and they've placed me as one of their Lolitas. Once they're done, I'll put up pictures of the clothes they designed.

To me, style is tons more than just a way of dressing. It's a way of LIFE.
For me, I would describe it as dark, casual, optimistic, eccentric, filled with machismo and adrenaline (energy), and generally off the wall. I wear a lot of turtlenecks, black tees, khaki capris, and black pants. A lot of black. Though I do not consider myself emo or goth, when I was in school those types of kids absolutely despised me, to be quite honest. It seemed like they thought my attitude was too "light" for them or something.
That is often what I'm into, what I'm like, and what often inspires me. However, I have much tolerance for a different person if they have a different style than my own most of the time. I basically never make fun of someone if I don't like their style as much as my own.

I agree, Puru. Their prices are very high for the quality you are getting. But, they've got cute stuff. :) Hollister is "slightly" better priced, but you can still pay $24.50 for a t-shirt that is so thin you can see through it that basically advertises their store. I'll take a dozen! :biglaugh:

I know a guy like that. I found out a few years ago that he's colored blind and when I asked if that was the reson he always wore black he said it was part of it. He's quite but really smart. He's job involve much knowledge about bugs, he works in a lab at a university. So I guess nerdy goth would work for the look lol.
But anway I'm not really into lables and I just wear what I like that fits. I like casual fitting jeans and retired from wearing wide cut because I heard they make short people look shorter and I don't want that look even though they're way comfortable. I like comfy cotton crops instead of short short (trashy), fun t-shirt but not the ones with words plastered all over the chest I think those are obnoxious for lack of a better word. I like brown and greens, I am most comforale in t-shirts and comfy jeans and going bare foot around the house sicne i don't like wearing socks. So I guess you could say I'm comfy casual if you want to make it a group.

I don't know what my style would be cuz I think I generally look slick or like a grub. I'm either wearing button up dress shirts, sometimes with cufflinks, khakis or dress pants and dress shoes or converse shoes and the rest of the time it's BDU cargoes, tees, zip up hoodies and converse or skater shoes. I don't own a single pair of jeans which I find kinda odd. My colour palette isn't very loud, blacks, whites, tans, greys, blues and greens.

Just the basics, a kind of shirt like that, the pants, and shoes. Perhaps the scarf too but it's stupid to wear one in California. It's too hot here >_<
Man, so you're just gonna wear a white shirt with black pants. Real original.

It'll obviously be different than any other normal white shirt and black pants. The obvious texture would be different, the shoes will match perfectly well with the pants, the belt, and I may even improvise on the outfit as well like I always do. c8

My cold weather wear doesn't really change much sine I get hot easily. So I can't wear many layers or really warm cloths. Besides I hate sweaters anyway. So it's usually jeans and a fleece over a t-shirt or a long sleeved t. I know I'm very boring but can't afford most of the cloths I like or just don't fit in them.
I like my winter coats though. I should post pictures of my two favorites.

I'm planning to cut my hair again like the last hair cut because right now is all crazy, and long. So yeh, I'm deciding on three colors to dye my hair. <.< I can't think of which one,
This one looks so hot! (http://www.raising-redheads.com/images/Curly-Long-Red-Hair.jpg) An adorable bright color that makes me feel alive, and looking younger. Except, I hate the part when my natural dark color start to show off from the roots. Meh, it won't last long, but I love it.
I love this one too, so hot similar to the first one except is darker, but I hate it that it gets fade it quick! (http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.com/images/curly-medium-hair-cuts-04.jpg)
Same with this one too, again I love it! (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8IEAtGFjS_k/SIpLGA7lYAI/AAAAAAAAAdA/4pSs3Yoo52o/s320/dark%2Bhair%2B%28brown-purple%29.jpg)
