In Book 12 or so, Akito isn't the roster, it's another person, however that person somehow broke away from the curse but still remains next to Akito. The Horse was in it. If you really want to know what Kyo's true form looks like, I'll tell you.
It's not exactly a dragon. It's more like a giant insect. The problem is that it's absolutely hideous and it stinks like rotting flesh. Everyone who sees it runs away in horror. The only thing keeping Kyo from going to that form instead of the orange cat is the bracelet he wears. The beads are made of carved bone and have some sort of protection spell on them.
