Hello, I am very interested in using my comicWorks tones in Manga Studio, mostly because my ComicWorks version is not translated. Is there a way I can do this? I already tried just putting the files in my tone folder, but they are not .tne files and I think that's why they didn't work.
Also, anybody care to compare the two programs? Which is better for what reasons? I have not really used ComicWorks yet. THANKS!!!
The file format is different between comicWorks and Manga studio. A simple drag files over folder won't do the trick.
First you need to export the tone from comicworks as PSD file, with layers. Don't merge down the tone with the sketch layer.
Open a new file in MS, import the tone PSD file as layer, click "paste white as transparent".
Than save the tone pattern under edit> save pattern as tone
I like Manga Studio pen engine better. Comicworks crush my computer like hell...don't know why, but it does. Beside Comicwork you don't get any update and support like Manga studio does. ;)

Thank you!! Unfortunately my ComicWorks version is not working properly, so I can't even get the tones to show up. Has anyone done this with ComicWorks tones (converted them to Manga Studio) that can send some or all of them to me??

yuki-neko, I think the problem is you didn't export the comicWorks tone as layered PSD file. You need to have a sketch layer, and the tone layer. Then when you import to MangaStudio, only select the tone layer to import. I think that should be fine. Also, make sure the file can open in Photoshop first, before you import to MS. ^_^
