Haha, I liked Bobobo, Slayers, Cromartie High School when I watched them. But everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

Some of the worst for me were SD Gundam, Hamtaro, Skryed, Witch Hunter Robin, Dragonball GT, Metal Skin Panic: MADOX-01, Tenchi in Tokyo, and Ranma 1/2.
There was also an "anime" called Defenders of Space that was made by a bunch of Americans splicing together clips and mechas from Transformers, Gundam, Voltron, etc.

I also dislike the Bleach anime series. The manga was great, but the anime kind of fell flat in my opinion.

I have the horror that is Suikoden: Demon Century. Oh hell no, I didn't buy it. It was given away for free at Anime Expo a few years ago. I'd seen in it the past, and felt I needed to own such a crap.

Suikoden: DC was marketed as a side-story to the game series, but shares NOTHING but name. In fact, one of the points of Suikoden, both in game and in ancient story, is the presence of 108 warriors. You meet maybe 12 in SDC.

The story makes no sense, the anime's less than an hour long, and the acting may as well have been performed by Ms. Kearnsworth's 1st Grade Retard Class.

A few animes that I just haven't been able to get into:

- Pokemon - Even when I was younger I was never able to get into the show. I just never saw the appeal.
- Paranoia Agent - I hear it's an excellent series, but I was bored to tears and couldn't make it through the first episode.
- Bo^7 - The first few episodes were funny, but I'm not big into the randomness without much plot that is Bo^7. I just couldn't sit through so much randomness for the full 20+ minutes.
- Duel Masters - Again, the first few episodes were funny, but I really couldn't stick with it.
- .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet - I really liked .hack//SIGN, but really didn't like LotTB. The character designs were hard to look at and I really didn't like the voice acting.

The most painful 45 minutes of my life: Kai Doh Maru. *weeps* Such great artistic vision, such a lack of everything else. And... the English dub was awful.
Also, The Hakkenden was pretty bad. Halfway through the series everybody but the janitor and three interns caught the flu, so they had to finish it. (That's my theory anyways.) The music was good, though, and it had its good moments. I enjoyed parts of it. But don't watch Kai Doh Maru. Please. For your safety. :p

I used to love all of the fighting game based anime when I was younger but after trying to rewatch them I realized how bad they are. Most of the Capcom based ones like Street Fighter II and Alpha are pretty good but the Fatal Fury movie and ova are terrible as well as Samurai Shodown and Tekken.

Two that I hate because the dubs are terrible but I might like if I watched them subbed are Candidate for Goddess and Banner of the Stars.

Pretty much anything by CLAMP is unbearable. Tokyo Babylon was good, but Campus Detectives, Rayearth and their Pokemon ripoff all made me want to drink hot vomit before seeing ten more minutes. The worst one I have ever seen was the Boondocks, on Adult Swim. That was TERRIBLE! Pretty much all they did was drug dealing, cussing, and other illegal stuffs. The only part I liked was when the good kid was fighting with the bad kid! It was funny in the Sunday comics, but it's awful as an anime! If that doesn't count as an anime, I also never liked Beyblade or Digimon. Too rip-offy.
I do love DB and DBZ, although I can't deny that the storylines in both are rather repetitive...it's more than a fighting show people, it's a comedy too! :)

Alright. I'm gonna actually try and explain this, as many have said it already, and many refute it.

InuYasha.
Most series that start out strong either progress, or lose popularity and finish. This series has one singular plot point: get the jewel shards. It never progresses through different plotlines, but somehow, still is considered an amazing series. Takahashi-sensei was somehow able to stretch that one idea out for so long, with no other depth, that the anime had nothing to do but fight after fight after fight, with no point to getting stronger. After about 25 eps, the final boss is revealed as Naraku, and they just keep fighting him, and dragging it out, and fighting, and dragging it out. This series should have been MAYBE 52 eps total. There was no reason to drag it out longer, other than as a cash cow. And the fact that this series has so many fangirls who drool over Sesshomaru really boggles my mind. Similar to why Sephiroth is so popular... I thought we were supposed to root for the good guys.
And pretty much anything in Toonami is crap. I'm not saying the shows are bad, but the english-language/edited-for-tv versions are just plain crap.
Also, I never liked Sailor Moon, and 4Kids has murdered every series they lay their hands on, most disappointingly Shaman King and One Piece.

If it doesn't run forever, it isn't a Rumiko Takahashi work. Anyone who thinks InuYasha drags on clearly hasn't encountered the sheer power of Maison Ikkoku. It's a story built (perhaps unintentionally) to show you the absuridities one can find in culture. It's a 7-year love story, where major events include the main character calling out the name of a cat-- the cat sharing the same first name as the landlady love interest-- leading everyone to think they're hitched and omgwtfbbqtheyknoweachotherintimately.

But uhhh...MI doesn't suck. ^^;

Oh, and SD Gundam Force nearly kills the 25 years of Gundam awesomeness. I'm shocked it wasn't a 4Kids project, because it has 4Kids stench all over it.

I usually look at the back story of any anime I see, and decide to buy, so this is a hard one... If we're talking anime styled cartoons, then that's a lot easier. Totally Spies was the single worst show I've ever "caught a glimpse of as my brothers watched it" in my life. BLEGH. My eyes burn.

Anime shows themselves though... Probably anything 4Kids can churn out of the happyland everything is peaceful and editing bucket. One Piece was pretty heavily chopped up, and so was Shaman King.
Tokyo Mew Mew's anime on 4Kids wasn't as bad as One Piece and Shaman King, but still... Name changing really bugs me, for whatever reason, and the new theme song wasn't anywhere near as good as "My Sweet Heart", and the non-existant ending theme would've been a lot better with "Koi wa A LA MODE". Licensing those themes is more expensive than just making their own, but the originals were a lot better.

Super Milk Chan I watched on Cartoon Network was probably the nearest thing to a hated anime(Because I haven't seen any of the really horrible ones yet), even in the subbed version, because I'm really not into all that dirty humor and stuff. FLCL does have humor like that, but not near as much. Of course, that might have to do with the fact that it was only 6 episodes long...

EDIT: Now that I really think about it, Pokemon's probably ended up on the list for me as well. I always wonder how the heck Ash expects to catch them all with all the oppertunities he gives up. How does he expect to catch Mewtwo?? He's already had two chances, more than we get on the game.

It's not really anime, but they keep putting it in the Newtype DVDs so I will mention it. I don't really know what category mannequins would fall under, but it's Japanese, so close enough I guess. The Fuccons. I liked it, I thought it was so funny, and weird, but half of my Anime club completely hated it. they said it was the worse garbage they had ever seen. I think they were freaked out by it, kind of like a clown thing or something. The other half really loved it.

I read reviews of Season 1 and 2 on Amazon, before I began watching this. There are a lot of people on there who say that basically, Inuyasha is season 1 and 2. After that, there is really nothing else to watch.

I totally agree. I haven't seen it all yet, don't know if I am going to make it...but I am on episode 70. I know there are like 100 more eps. At this point, I really feel like I am watching the same show over and over again. When watching season 1 and 2, I was actually interested, but now...not so much.

The whole selling point of the manga, in my opinion, was the plot twist that occurs towards the end of the story; the anime took the twist, diluted it, got rid of all the backstory and effects on the characters that made it interesting, and slapped on an don't-worry-everything-is-omg!happy-again ending. *headdesk* Yeah, way to ruin the series. ><

Witch Hunter Robin I found to be pretty enjoyable (love the OP theme music) and actually is a title that could convert to live-action. It isn't a top-10 anime or anything, but I rather enjoyed the concept of witches in the modern world. Could things have been better? Yeah, but I don't think it quallifies as a worst anime.

Ranma 1/2 starts off strong, ends horribly, but is redeemed by the OAV's. ^_^ However, Takahashi-sensei's inability to allow characters to grow beyond a certain point, age, or come to a resolution hurts her works (sans Maison Ikkoku where she actually did allow aging and growth and it is her best work).

Still, Air wasn't a bad title (LOVED the OP theme -- a top-10 favorite there). Actually I rather enjoyed it a lot. At only 12-episodes, there's not enough time to really give a good fleshing out of things to explain some of the odd stuff, but then I'm a sucker for sad titles (Kanon comes to mind in the H-game title turned anime that brings out the tissues).

So what didn't you like about FMP? Certainly the flow of the anime isn't the best (going from the short stories to the other novels and back), but the seiyuu cast rocks and holds a certain charm for me; it was enough to get me to buy the DVDs and get several co-workers hooked. ^_^

What about Cardcaptor Sakura? Granted xxxHOLiC hasn't yet seen the light of a TV anime series (coming soon though), but the movie was pretty darned good. Miyuki-chan did nothing for me though...

Maison Ikkoku escapes this trap, which is why I love it so (though I don't love Viz's treatment of the title). It is amazing that Takahashi-sensei is still doing the Inuyasha manga though.

*ROFL!* DE isn't the worst anime for me, but the director was wacked for making what should be episode 12, the first episode. The CGI was already out of date when the show initially aired. And yeah, the giant breasts made my back hurt. :eek:

A.D. Police TV -- This is the supposed prequel to Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and it is awful, made more so by how enjoyable BGC2040 is. Bad writing (think bad 70's or 80's cop shows) and cliched story just made it unwatchable.
Chou Henshi Cos Prayer -- No character development and a jumbled mess of a story that can't be followed. Someone smoked crack and came up with this one. :eek:
Dirty Pair Flash 3 -- This OAV series was just awful. Allow me to quote from my own review: Selling sex was all this OAV seemed to be about. Thanks to this series, my impression of Yuri is that she is a girl who would have sex with 50 men at once providing they were extremely rich. This seems like an ideal date for her. Man, have I ever become sick of her constant whining about dates! But beyond the sexual connotations with Yuri and Kei, in the final episode, the way the scene between Poporo (the boss) and his grade school daughter was animated smacked highly of lolicon sex.
Parasite Dolls -- This is a spinoff of A.D. Police -- Boomers go mad, but not for the reasons in BGC2040. And it goes south from there.
Lupin III: From Russia With Love -- Bad art, animation, and story about the Czar's gold that the communists in the Soviet Union didn't manage to steal.
Lupin III: Voyage to Danger -- Boring story and unbelievable even by Lupin standards. ^_^;;;
Lupin III: Legend of Twilight Gemini -- Another bad story and the main cast of characters get hosed by the writers.

Re: BEE TRAIN. They're hit and miss with me. I loved .hack//sign. I hated Noir. I like Madlax. I hated Meine Liebe. I liked Avenger, despite its utter mediocrity.

Re: Maburaho. After episode 12 is what saved this for me. The first eleven episodes were pretty much boring. I've seen those stories before, but when "it" happens, the show started plowing into new ground.

Re: Parasite Dolls. Actual storytelling in the Bubblegum world? Say it isn't so! :P It had better character designs and art than BGC2040, it had better scriptwriting than anything else in the BGC world other than the original. It actually showed the world that I wanted to see. A dark cyberpunk world where the Knights Saber would fit in well. It did seem more suited for the original BGC world than the 2040 world, though. No Batcave for the Knights Saber here.

Fullmetal Alchemist I just find it to be unworthy of the immensive amounts of hype it receives.
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX At least the original series had some entertainment value.
Rave Master An already pretty bad series with an even worse dub (and the most horrendous opening and ending themes ever).
Inuyasha, post-Naraku. Around this time, animation quality started to slowly go downhill and filler was everywhere.
Trigun. Same reason as FMA, only I don't as much HATE it as I do dislike portions of it (bad, bad music, first few episodes were basically just filler, etc.)

It would have to be Bobobo-Bo-Bobobo. (Sorry if I spelled it wrong!) My younger brother watches it and he one day convinced me to watch it. I just don't think it's right for one of the main characters to have a power that involves nostril hair, another character who is named Gassser and smells like fart, and a talking Sun who has absolutely no purpose in the show.

Wost Anime's in the history of time:

Colorful- If they wanted to make a whole anime devoted to fanservice,with pedophile gym teachers molesting young high school girls on the track team, they shoulda just made a freakin' Hentai.

Dragonball Z/GT- Stop the madness. It's the same plot over and over again. A new threat comes to Earth, the Z fighters fight it, someone dies, they're brought back with the dragonballs, and usually Goku saves the day. Just end it. Ya got nothin'. And come on, Goku has to die SOMETIME and actually STAY dead. He can't live forever.

Naruto- Ok, so it's not really the worst anime I've ever seen, but it doesn't live up to all the hype. I mean, what's the big deal? Three annoying kids who go to a Ninja school, and then go around fighting other people.

Mew Mew Power: Why? The manga was good, but the show was a catastrophe.

Paranoia Agent- I heard it started out slow, so I was prepared to be bored for the first couple of episodes. What I failed to hear though, was that the show STAYED slow. It was also confusing, and watching it made me wanna gouge my eyes out with a fork.

Elfin Lied: Mindless,Unimaginative, common, stupid plot, with mediocre animation quality, that tried to be made better by adding tons of gore and evil, naked robot girls. Come on. If ya gotta add all that gore and nudity to make a point, it means you HAVE NO point. Hmm...but I guess people like that stuff...

So many people don't like Paranoia Agent. Do any of the people who didn't like it even understand it? I didn't really like it when I first watched it but when I watched it for a second time, I started to like it and now I love it. But you have to know everything that's going on all the time to truly appreciate it.

But the worst anime I've ever watched was Inuyasha. Soooo boring. So many episodes. So hard to keep up on. Then again I don't watch too many anime shows, I read more manga.

Many animes have ups and downs, so it's unfair. I like these animes, mind you, I don't have hated ones cause I don't watch much since I can't find anime on my TV and I'm poor, but, like (commenting on others' on other pages)...

Tsubasa: Isn't as great because they reuse the same music, yes, which seriously annoys me. I love the ending theme, but the actual anime lacks musically which makes up at least 30% of the happiness or sadness. And the storyline and characters are too businesslike than what most like: comedy, action, romance, etc. It's bland and the characters of Syaoran and Sakura aren't as developed as CCS.

DBZ: I liked it which made me start watching it. However eventually it got tedious and repitive and bland. It was just ovr and over fight scenes inwhich it was pretty much dashes for 30 minutes. Sometimes it switched to like, North Kai saying I hope Goku gets there, or whatever. It was bland and like above, lacking in the spice of romance, comedy, etc. Romance cut out completely, really. Suddenly Majin buu was defeated and Gohan and Pan were married.

Pokemon: seriously, I loved this show. Woke up for like 2 years watching it and I threw a tantrum when I missed it. But I agree, cause obviously I stopped watching it. Their success got to their head and they made up random episodes and unconsciously threw away the aspect which the audience loved. They kept adding people like Tracey, May, etc. And they threw out Misty and Brock! Brock, I could handle, but I thought Misty and ash were to get together! Jeez! Ended up like DBZ: bland and stalling and overlong. By the way, I didn't like the battles or action cause it was like DBZ, but I was amused by, as astated before, Brock and Misty. Comedy and romance. Anything not battles where they show personality.

Digimon: Once again, repitive and annoying. For me. I mean, loved the first 2 seasons, but the third one confused me. Are they still going? maybe it's just me cause I was attached to the characters. I was really attached to Kairi and TK, they were soo adorable.

Peach Girl: This actually I have no idea if anyone agrees but this is my comment personally. It was a buncha bull. I mean, I loved it sometimes in the fact of Kairi added depth and interest but Momo and Touji annoyed me. It was just a drama inwhich was shallow, retarded, stalling, and "uggh!!" Some things seriously made me sick and wanna strangle the computer. Mistake after mistake after mistake, it get repititive and annoying... not bland cause they come up with random dramas like pregnancies and scandals and falling iin love with the nurse, but, uggh, their attitudes were sickening. Too dramatic that not only is it unrealistic like most animes, but it's not even a universal theme anymore. Which is sad since there's not even magic or anything.
