Daisuke is my favorite character. I like his hair color that is why he is my favorite character, and he has a nice personality. I think the manga and the anime are some of the best out there, but it is not the only one I read and watch.

I am a bit different than some of you, I still like Daisuke and Dark as my top characters for the Manga and Anime, but I like that they don’t follow the same story. To me it is like getting two stories’ with the same characters and it helps my creative mind in my writing.

I will have to disagree, Even though I completely enjoy this series it seems to move quite slow compared to some others. The one of hers that I like the best at the moment is Lagoon Engine, I just identified with the characters better and I really like the idea of the brotherly cooperation and finding of ones self/each other. Don't get me wrong, I'm buying every vol of DNAngel as it comes out. Just if i only had money for one. and there was a new DN vs a new Lagoon Engine. I would definitely pick up Lagoon Engine First (Oh, and let it be known i am NOT talking about Einsatz, just plain Lagoon Engine with Jin and Yen)

just to tell you I agree with Risa, but not Riku i like her, but that is my opinion and you are intuited to your's right. Risa is a big cry baby and she dose not now how to cook that is some of the reasons i dont like her. People told me that I should read D.N.Angel because it was really good but there was something about the plot that just didn't interest me. Then there was a special offer, 3 for 2, and I thought that I'd take it just because I really liked the front cover of volume 1. It was that or Suikoden III.

I can hear you it cost me big money (if i had bought them at the save time) i have 1-10 in the manga. the anime i am waiting for vol. 4 to get here, i ordered it at best buy for 20 dollars with shipping about 3 weeks ago. $20 is better then $30 at borders or competitors.

The town definitely wasn't based off of a Japanese town. It looks more like Italian mixed with Greek. I don't think that sort of thing really matters when you think about it though.
Not to say his hometown is not gorgeous. It's beautiful.

Because she's very annoying, the way she clings onto Daisuke like that.

I dislike riku though because (imo) i think she wants to be tomboy-ish, but she really needs daisuke. and i guess she doesn't seem to have as much depth as someone like hitomi from escaflowne.

She does get better at the end of the anime.
I think overall she's more annoying in the anime than in the manga.
In the first manga she's kind of weird but she's not as obsessed with Dark as she is in the anime.
At least, she doesn't go to every single place where Dark's said to be stealing from and wait there.
Plus, she doesn't have any visions of become a phantom thief like Dark.

I think the anime really enunciated her obsession with Dark and took it to a whole different level.

Of course he's been selfish. There's been a few times that Daisuke didn't want to steal the artwork for his family, and other times when Daisuke decided to have pity parties for himself.

Despite that, I don't think he's a very selfish person. He had good reasons not to want to steal, and everyone goes through pity parties once in a while (and considering what Daisuke has to live with, I'm not surprised he goes through them.)

People tend to think that Daisuke and Satoshi are gay because of all the times Satoshi's helped Daisuke out and vice versa.
People who are into shounen-ai like to take that situation and blow up the whole event out of proportion by saying that Daisuke did it because he likes Satoshi, or vice versa.
It's almost as if they can't grasp the concept that guys can care about each other and help each other out without having sexual or love feelings for that person.
Also, there's the famous "Refrigerator scene" where Satoshi 'falls into Daisuke's lap'. To them that's proof right there that it's shounen-ai. *rolls eyes* I guess that even when a guy is reeling in pain he can still choose where to fall or something. -_-

Yeah...I don't really like the anime. I'm a big fan of the manga, though, so I was really disappointed with the anime. Having to download all 26 eps on 56k really didn't help either. It took nearly a week to get each ep...and so each one was super disappointing. X_X

The dub is OK. I really dislike Dark's voice though. Vic's not a bad VA, but it just didn't fit Dark.

Not really. Dark has passed puberty age (he's 17), so a deep sounding voice would fit him. Plus, it would sound sexier. It doesn't necessarily need to sound old to be deep. There are plenty of VA who can do deep voices for characters without making them sound old (Crispin Freeman for example).

But when I think about it, I don't think I can think of one English VA that could do his voice perfectly. It just wouldn't work.

Personally, I like Dark's Japanese voice. I think it fits him a lot better than his English voice which takes all the coolness out of Dark.

For me it's more how the hair looks than its color. It looks like it's always plastered to his head. So bad. Though I do agree with you on his hair color. It looks much nicer in the manga, and even in the colored manga pictures.

I really think that all the characters in the anime had crappy hair though. I can't tell you how many times they messed up Dark and Daisuke's hair. And Riku and Risa's just looked....bad. I think for them it was mostly the bangs though. X-x

Risa's annoying the beginning, but she gets a lot better later. In both the manga and anime.

My favorite pairings are:
Daisuke x Riku (an obvious pairing)
Satoshi x Risa

Dark and Krad get no one, since hooking up with anyone would be kind of difficult for them at the end...

There's a good chance they might disappear, especially if Sugisaki-sensei goes the anime route. It seems like she kind of is, at least with the image of the forbidden artwork wrapped in chains, but only time will tell. I really don't think Satoshi will be the one to do it though; he's not powerful enough by himself, especially not powerful enough to beat both Krad, Dark, AND Daisuke (who will get caught up in it).
I think it'll have to be through Daisuke and Satoshi's combined efforts, and perhaps even Dark's.

I like the anime-way better though. It makes more sense, if the plotline in the manga and anime are the same anyways--in which Dark exists to seal the magic of the Hikari art works... correct me if I'm wrong, I was busy dying my hair red too, haha. Anyways, it makes more sense cause, not dragging Daisuke into this for he learned to love Dark, Dark has a complex personality where he wouldn't want to go, he's optomistic and loves having fun, but at the same time, he's got a hidden love where he's not really as selfish as it would seem at first and he knows what's right. He'd want to lock up Krad if it sacrifices his own happiness, for it would ensure the people he loves' happiness... or maybe I'm just a sucker for those type things with morals and doing right from wrong, etc. But as well, you're right. The plot did say Dark would disappear once he got his maiden... wait, did Daiki ever get his Holy Maiden? he eventually had Emiko but did she accept him for Dark too? The bad thing about that ending is that it's bad that Dark would disappear against his will without a say... Dark has to accept it too.... and him an dKrad need to have a finishing battle too.

P.S. -- Hiwatari's otou-san was a bum in the anime.... jeez, I was cursing at him and Krad the most, those... -bleeps-... haha.

i can't choose from daisuke and dark i luv them both i'v just started watching the anime ,it's sooo good . I have up to 5 in the manga i can't find the 6th book can anyone help? it's the english version! (^-^)
