This kind of has something to do with fashion... maybe not. Meh...
Anyway, most people want clear beautiful skin... Most of us don't have that.
I follow a procedure of washing, toning and moisturising. Doing that twice a day and more if my face feels oily.
I use the Innoxia Young Solution range and it worked... Up until a week ago when I started to break out...
I rarely eat sweet food, don't drink soft drink but have the occasional ramune. And fast food is rarely on my menu.
I bathe twice a day and rarely wear make up. But I do sleep rather late...
So, anyone have any tips on how to control your skin? Share!!!

Hydrochloric acid baths. Err, I mean, astringent. Maybe I'm just lucky, because my skin's almost always nice and clean.

First and foremost: proper nutrition. Junk foods like chips, soda, candy, burgers, fries and pizza just put a lot of toxins into body. It isn't chocolate that gives you pimples, so much as all the additives.
Drink plenty of water. This will flush out all the bad stuff you put into your body. Cut down on the soda and processed drinks. Seriously, they're not good for you.
Wash your face regularly with cold water. The facial cleanser you will have to experiment with and find on your own since everyone's skin reacts differently. However, do not get one that is too harsh. If you do have oily skin, a stronger cleaner will only strip all the moisture out so your skin will produce even MORE oil to compensate.
As Cassandra would say, "moisturize me. moisturize me". There are so many different types out there for different skin. Find the one that suits you.
And lastly, ex-foliate once or twice a week, depending on need/age.
But if you have a severe problem, go to a dermatologist. They have prescription medications that can help you, or it may be a sign of a different condition.

Well, when I was in high school I had a lot of problems with acne and breaking out.
A couple of things I made sure to do was....
-wash my face often (2-3 times a day usually)
-I bought these pads to wipe my face off whenever it was greasy and I was away from water (they are kind of like baby wipes. Anyway, you can get them from a dermatologist or perhaps from the cosmetic/medicine section at Wal-mart?)
-If you use lotion on your face, make sure it doesn't clog pores. It should say on the bottle if it doesnt. Brands like Aveeno are really good because it's not only good lotion, it doesn't clog your pores.
-Make sure washes you're using aren't too coarse for your skin.
-I would try using a different face wash. Sometimes your body gets too accustomed to one brand and the ability of the brand wears down. That could be what's happening.
-Try not to stress out too much.
-If you're near to a certain time of the month, that could be why you broke out too. That happened to me a lot. (even now a little bit)
But don't forget, usually your skin is not as prone to acen when you get older. A teenager's skin gets very oily easily.
Lots of nice tips here...I have some of the same problems, especially with oily skin -_-.

Numerous scientific studies have come to the same conclusion: There's no connection between diet and acne. Although you may be tempted to use this myth to encourage your child to eat more fruits and vegetables, blaming zits on pizza, soda, french fries, and candy bars just isn't accurate.
- kidshealth.org
Extensive scientific studies have not found a connection between diet and acne. "It has been thought if you have a steady diet of shellfish or kelp, that they can be a trigger," Shalita says. But no, chocolate, French fries and pizza don't cause acne. "You're not going to make the (sebaceous) glands put out more oil by eating greasy foods," he says. - http://www.healthatoz.com
I eat all kinds of these "terrible foods" and have pretty clear skin. All I do is use astringent twice a day ^^ and try not to touch my face a lot.

On my skin nothing works. Apart from acne problems on nose and chin I have dry oversensitive skin (so I can't use most anti-acne products)... SO I use anything for oversensitive extremly dry skin (and is not too expensive). If you have only acne problems... consider yourself lucky XD
*and my skin itches again....*
BTW>>> a bit of sun is recommended for skin, but too much dries it! (and I know what I'm talking about). So be carefull with the sun!

Hm, have you tried using lotions like Aveeno? Aveeno's meant for sensitive skin.
I know how you feel though. I actually have a skin condition stemming from over-sensitive skin, so not only do I have to wory about acne I have to worry about that too. For the most part my acne's cleared (I get a couple every now and then), but my skin condition hasn't really let up much.
For your skin, I'd recommend a dermatologist. A doctor can get you medicine and creams that you can't get over-the-counter.

I put noxzema on my face at night for five minuets or untill it gets to tingly and then wash it off. I used to use clean and clear oil pads, they work sometimes too. Noxzema also helps your skin if it's either dry or oily, it makes it shiney and smooth...but you have to use it for a while because the first thing it does is clean your pores out which may cause the acne to get a little worse before it gets better, but in the long run, it's agreat thing to use, and it even helps with sunburn (if you're like me and forget to re-apply sunscreen)

-drink a lot of water
-don't touch acne, even when tempted. (long term results will be positive)
-wash face before, and after school
- Benzoyl Peroxide! I saw on an evening news bit about acne, and they tested a bunch of products. Acne products with Benzoyl Peroxide worked the best.
- make sure lotion doesn't clog pores (non-condemegetic? I probably spelled that wrong...)
--SLEEP. lack of sleep makes acne look worse, and being fatigued probably adds to stress.
these are just the things I do anyway.:o

I wash my face 2 times a day, rarely drink water (?), play sports (not very often though. normal sports are all to blame of our stupid teacher >.<) so I sweat and sweat also flushes the toxins out. i don't have that much junk food, unless i'm hungry and there's nothing to eat. Or if it's V-day, Halloween or Easter. Chocolate galore! I have Neutrogena face wash, and gentically cool skin.

I strongly recommend Eyeko Cream (http://www.eyeko.com/). It's around $20 (USD) but it lasts forever! (The supercute little manga pictures don't hurt either) As far as cleanser goes just try out different things until you find the one that works best. That's really all you can do there as far as I know...
And, uh, that prescription BenzaClin stuff peeled off my skin. So you might want to try out prescription medicines on a patch of skin before you use them on 500 different places on your face. :o

I alternate with a facial wash like Nutrogena and a facial scrub (usually apricot) that works really well I find. Only after about three months after use break outs rear their ugly head.

Get a tan! A bunch of girls that I work with (including myself) have all been going to the tanning beds to get tan for the skirt weather, and since we have, we all have a major reduction in break outs.
Use this in moderation as too much sun can be bad too!

I've had bad skin since I was 12 and I'm almost 21 ;_; Science proves that eating sweets and stuff like that doesn't make you spotty, it's just hormones. If you're female then one option is to go on the pill (though that can make your weight go up, it done that with me). T-tree is great for cleaning your skin. Try face packs twice a week too, the ones with the gritty stuff in them are the best ;)
