Is anyone besides me getting peeved that Cartoon Network has started bringing on regular movies??? I don't tune into Cartoon Network to see Dumb and Dumber or The Mask.
Plus I just saw that Saved By The Bell is going to start coming on April 17th? Are they serious?
Is anyone else with me on this? It's CARTOON network... hence why I watch.

Are you serious? xD Wow... kinda beats the purpose of Cartoon Network  Even Teletoon hasnt done that yet xD

I totally agree Cartoon Network should show CARTOONS. Plus all the movies they pick suck. They are not even anime or animated. I have no complaints on the Month of Miyazaki but Dumb and Dumber. The title speaks for itself.

They've been doing it since before Christmas when they showed the live-action Batman movie.
It really does suck but you noticed how MTV and VH1, once stations that played nothing but video music now no longer has them. Go figure.
Miako
04-09-2006, 09:11 PM
Hee I did notice that about MTV and VH1.. I remember those days.
But still. :( It sucks, I feel like there is anime that should be on but NOOO all I see is real people who come on every weekend on TBS.

Maybe they're trying something new. Besides, I liked that they played Batman the movie. Some of my friends didn't know there was a Batman and now they fell in love with it. Batman is the man!
Anyways, yeah I think they're trying to try something new.
But adding save to the bell? ...It should be left at Jed-Ex (Toon Disney) T_T I bet you they're going to add Power Rangers into Cartoon Network. (Not saying it's bad)
Miako
04-09-2006, 09:33 PM
Adding something new is fine... but if your a "cartoon" network maybe you should just air "cartoon" shows and/or movies? So trying something new that doesn't support what your network is suppose to offer me, is a little annoying. I'm glad your friends like Batman now... I could understand a cartoon orientated movie I mean Batman is a classic cartoon so if they wanted to air that, not so bothered. I still would see some purpose. But most of the movies are not classic cartoons... or even cartoons... it's just wrong.

Its like having Teletubbies and Bible Black on the same network... It just doesnt work

If they were smart, CN should just make a seperate channel for Toonami and [adult swim], like they did when they created a seperate Boomerang channel a few years ago.
That is...if they were smart...

I just saw the preview again. Saved by the Bell will come on Adult Swim... wtf?
I was JUST thinking that, Arcademan. :)
I love Boomerang...

Well Gaara in a way they come on diffrent Network's since Foster's is on just normal Cartoon Network and FMA is on Adult Swim.
However Saved by the Bell on Adult Swim thats pretty lame. They could bring back on Witch Hunter Robin or reruns of Trigun in that time. I mean i like Saved by the Bell but it shouldnt be on Cartoon Network or Adult Swim thats just lame.

@Miako: Agreed.
@AniD: I wouldn't go that far. Those don't match at all. Hell one's for adults and one's for little children. Save by the bell is a show for teens and so is other cartoon network shows. Like I said they're just trying something new. Whether we like it or not. I don't like it. >_>
@Gaara: ...no comment.

Sometimes they are hard to understand. [adult swim] is showing The Gary Coleman Show, The Super Globetrotters and Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos. Cartoons, sure...but why try to relive the 70's and 80's with THOSE shows when there's tons other better ones they could be showing instead
Kurama
04-09-2006, 09:49 PM
Doesnt Saved by the Bell already come on like 2 other channels. why's it need to be on Adult Swim too.
Arcademan
04-09-2006, 09:52 PM
[adult swim]'s thinking...we cater to an older audience...so let's put on old shows that no one really wants to watch and we don't want them to forget :p
Miako
04-09-2006, 09:52 PM
LOL have you ever SEEN The Gary Coleman show? Best cartoon ever...
Please note the sarcasm. IT's about Gary Coleman as an angel named Lamar or something and ... omg it's just stupid, they look like Fat Albert people. :( Why cartoon network, why? To cartoon networks credit those 70s cartoons come on at like 3am to 5am. :D

Wait is Save by the Bell airing on Cartoon Network? or on Adult Swim (T_T)?
Hopefully it'll be airing around those shows that air on 4 - 6 am heh.

[adult swim]s thinking, "Lets get the rights to some cheap shows that normally air mid afternoon, and play them in the early morning, for all the stoners and insomniacs and hope that at least one of them becomes a cult hit."
Either that or cheap time filler.

How awfull......the world won't be the same anymore when there aren't cartoons in cartoon network....
What happened to the commercial: 'If you tune in at 7:00 PM what will you see? A cartoon! If you tune in at 12:00 AM what will you see? A cartoon!

Cartoons = Animation
Save By the Bell = Live-action
And so according to my calculations, Save By the Bell and CARTOON Network do NOT mix.

Found out Saved by the Bell will be on for only 2 weeks and then [adult swim] will go back to its usual schedule...whatever that is :p

04-10-2006, 06:31 PM
OMG that's AWESOME!!! Cause seriously... the Saved by the Bell thing, is just to stupid... Do you know it's line up? I wonder if it will be taking up a good timeblock. :( And whatever will they bring on next? They should really not EVER bring on real people anything shows... except maybe live action sailor moon or something . . the bleach musical I dunno stuff like that like once a week would be hilarious.

NO!!!!!!!!! Midnight is still time for good shows. :( :( :(
Lol AniD, the commercials are of them doing songs. Like when the girls do that exercise video song *I think it was like Zack's daydream?" and then the boys doing Barbara Ann.

i never watched saved by the bell when it was first on television, so i have no loyalty, attachment or nostalgia. i really dislike cartoons being pushed out of the way by live action shows. so far they've made good choices on the movies they've been showing, but i really hope the trend will turn out to be a bad decision or that CN & AS fans will hate it and rebel.

Anyway, to stay on topic: Cartoon Network should be devoted to animation.

LOL! I just saw a preview of the Saved by the Bell show. Niiiiiice.
After thinking about it, I guess it's nice for a change. I mean, what did we always have at 12? Futurama? Honestly I don't really like Futarama. Hell, Usually at 12 I go do something else like take a shower or something. So it wouldn't really affect me. Yooosh! Nice preview again LOL.
Anyways, if you don't like that it isn't "cartoon-ish" then don't watch it. I'm sure they won't take out the saturday night block where they have the best animes. If I recall, Mondays is the days they air Inuyasha. Or am I wrong?
Miako
04-13-2006, 02:03 AM
Lol, I know, Vicious. The Saved By The Bell previews are hilarious... not as hilarious as Robot Chicken ones, but still good.
And it has nothing to do with the fact that it's not "cartoon-ish" I like Saved By The Bell... I just don't find it neccessary to add to a line up of a network called "CARTOON Network" So whether I like the show or not isn't the problem, it's like if House Hunters came on The Food Network, would you not find that odd? Same difference.

yes !!! its very true i hate that they started showing movies like that come on thats just horrible! i wana see cartoons. but the other thing i wana say about cartoon net work is i dont like alot of the new shows they got they are makeing like 3rd rate shows lately like my gym partners a monkey that show suxs!!! and robot boy ( i thought it was going to be great but it turns out to sux!)

Cartoon network showing real things doesn't bother me -- I mean , especially considering that their general lineup sucks.
Sheesh -- when did American cartoons start getting WORSE!? Damn you Butch Hartman, Craig McCracken, and Maxwell Atoms. You guys ruined Cartoon Network for the future generations with your shows that are generic and lackluster.

They've been doing it since before Christmas when they showed the live-action Batman movie.
Yeah. What really made me mad about that is the fact that it was rated TV14 when they won't even show the blood in some of the anime that they show. I mean look at how baddly One Piece has been edited! Not to mention the crappy voice acting.

it sounds like a good idea to do that but then if they do that people will have to pay to get it like with boomerang ( i belive you have to pay more for it dont you ?!?!?) and maybe people wont but that channel thats what i think im not sure

I gave up on cartoon network a while back. Not to be stuck up, but when I need an anime fix, I got much better options than that stupid pirate-rap, or even worse, cartoon networks lame new Anime "IGPX"
BTW- does Cartoon Network like own "Anime Insider" or something. That mag is one big CN commercial. They even defend teen titans.

Boomerang isn't a pay channel though the majority of cable systems don't carry it.
