How can you forget rameun/ramen/lameun?
[haha i"m trying to spell it in korean, japanese, and english XD]
Yes, I DO eat it, unlike some people who claim they do just because Inuyasha or Naruto eats it.
It is pretty weird how they mention in Naruto that you have to wait 3 mins.
That's absolutely correct. lol
I only like spicy ones :)
Like.. Shin rameun. That's sooo good ^__^
Or even the cup rameuns. That's so good too, especially when you eat it like late at night haha. Somehow, it tastes better. XD
The Americans ones.. well, the Maruchan ones are okay, but anything other than that I refuse to eat. haha
They have no flavor :(
What do YOU like ?

I LOVE ramen! I have been eating it since I was little. Back then I called it "oodles of noodles" because that is what my cousins called it. LOL

There's this brilliant ramen place in Sydney. It's tiny and authentic japanese. I LOVE the ramen there... I want some now...
Ichiban-Boshi is great too but cause it's a franchise I find it expensive compared to the smaller ones. But they always have the best soba...
Ohh... I love how the pork (Fave is Tokyo style) is sooooo tender and the egg is always perfect in japanese ramen... Great, now I'm hungry...

ive never been to an actual ramen place but i love that Maruchan stuff, the oriental type of course
i remember when my friends and i could not get the hot water at school so we crushed the noodles and added seasoning and ate it raw. Yum!

I love ramen. Maruchan or Top Ramen is usually bought at our house; chicken flavor. Anybody recommend a good brand?

I like ramen. I never knew people pretended they did just because of stuff like Naruto *which um hasn't been popular very long anyways?* and Inu Yasha. That seems dumb? Whatever.. it's filling, cheap, and good. ^^ I'm game.

I don't like instant ramen at all, but I LOVE real ramen from the ramen restaurant. There's a great place near me called Shinsengumi that makes AWESOME ramen in the tonkotsu (pork bone) style, which, along with miso is my favorite.

upon clicking, i thought this was a thread for ramune.
which is, by the way, the best drink in the world.
most of my diet consists of sticky rice, but yeah, ramen can often be found in my tummy.

SAME. You've never had ramen until you've tried the real fresh ramen.
GO TRY!!!
I suggest 'Tokyo ramen' for those new to fresh ramen. There's also 'Tokyo miso ramen'. Faves...
To have good ramen I have to travel over an hour into Sydney. It's sooo worth it though :D

I've never been able to have fresh ramen. :(
But this is the way I cook it at home: I drain most of the water from the ramen, then add the flavoring pack and some curry. Then I poach an egg and put that on top. YUMMY!!!!

XD I love that drink.
Oh yeah, the trick to boil eggs in ramen is to put it in at the last minute, but not so late or else the ramen will.. get that overcooked taste.
I love both fresh and instant. I'm so weird. haha

Never had FRESH ramen but if its anything like fa, then I really want to!
(Don't know if thats the right spelling, but fa is a Laotian [again, bad spelling] clear rice noodle dish that my brothers now-ex-wife introduced me to when we spent the holidays at her parents with her and Sean. We had fa and hand-made eggrolls and this absolutly delicious spicy dish that I can't remember the name to but was like "mmmmmmmm...").
I'm actually eating some instant ramen right now, but lately I don't like how salty it is, so I've developed a taste for the sweeter instant Yakisoba ^_^ It's not anything like the fresh kind, but it's still good.

It's not much like Pho, but it's still good.
I was under the impression that Pho was originally Vietnamese (and they always have it at the Vietnamese restaurants around here) but I might be wrong.
::drools:: soo goood.

There was a thing on the news the other day about ramen sales in the US. Apparently, if you took all of the chicken flavored ramen sold by Maruchan last year, it would span the length of 80,000,000 miles. That's just one flavor of one manufacturer!! Imagine if they estimated the length of all the ramen sold together.

We only by Maruchan chicken ramen in my house, and i'm the one who usualy eats most of it. I like my ramen with a sandwhich or with bacon bits sprinkled on top of it, and i never break the noodles or cook them all the way. It just taste better like that to me. ^_^

We have so much instant ramen at home that you would think that it's our favorite food or something. Well, it's not. Ick. It provides a quick snack when it's either too late at night to cook, or everyone is just too plain lazy to cook.
REAL ramen, however, is heavenly. I like mine simple. Just the noodles and the soup, maybe a little meat. However, please don't overload it with every known vegetable to man. That's just a shame right there. :P

I haven't had Japanese noodles but the Vietnamese noodle houses around here have some amazing stuff. For the instant stuff, I like Kim Chi the best.
Make mine spicy.

Hnnn.. I actually have yet to have ramen that isn't STUFFED with a ton of salt, so unless someone can show me a good non-salty ramen place in NYC or northern NJ, I'm going to stick to my beloved udon.
The ramen you find in grocery stores is just WAY too salty for me *they give me MASSIVE salt headaches*. And the one and only Asian food market that was nearby was closed down *again* recently, so I can't just buy ramen noodles and make my own.
And yeah, I can understand WHY people really only eat ramen because of Naruto and Inu Yasha. It's the whole "doing it because it's the 'in' thing". It's the 'cool' thing. They claim 'Yeah, I eat Japanese food every day, yo! I buy that Mar-oo-chaaan stuff everyday, the chicken flavor.' Yet, I can bet if you were to take them to a true authentic Japanese restaurant and have them try REAL Japanese food, they'd run away screaming ^^;. It's not all sushi, ramen, and Pocky ;b.

Japanese food is normally bland or salty - Ramen soup base is usually soy or miso. So stick to udon if you don't like salty food.
The real stuff is very different from the cup/instant ones.

well i still like the cup/instant ones.:D
True that, lol. And I don't really eat it because it was mostly "anime inspired". I eat it cause it's good and I'm hungry lol. I don't like the spicy ones......I think it ruins the whole thing. Other than that, I almost have to live off of that stuff and pb&j at my house @.@ lol
