Okay, this posting will probably just slide right down the list, because I have met very few people who read Christopher Moore's stuff. But his stuff is just great.
So a brief list of his works:
Pactical Demonkeeping -- Travis has been cursed with a demon named Catch. He's spent his whole life trying to figure out how to get rid of the demon. The demon spends his whole life making trouble, in a big bad way. Catch is invisible to others, except when he is in his eating form...This is a truly funny book -- go read it now!
Coyote Blue -- Sam Hunter is a man avoiding his past. He meets a girl he thinks he can be happy with, then Coyote, the Native American God, shows up and tries to help Sam get what he wants. He isn't exactly good at it. This one is one of my favorites.
Bloodsucking Fiends -- Vampires, love and frozen turkey bowling, what more could you ask for? If you like vampires you should read this.
The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove -- You should read this after Practical Demonkeeping, as it also takes place in Pine Cove, the setting for PD, but this one is a bout a sea monster named Steve, a town where the majority of inhabitants are on antidepressants, and a scream queen, and how they are are related. Funny stuff!
Lamb:The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal -- the lost gospel that chronicles those years of Christ's life that are missing from the others. From Biff's point of view. Nuff said.
There are others, Island of the Sequined Love Nun, Fluke, or I know why the Winged Whale Sings, The Stupidest Angel, and his newest one A Dirty Job All funny.
He is sometimes compared to Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, and Douglas Adams. I like all those authors, but I would say he is different from them in his own way. Rather than comparing him to them, I would say, if you liked those authors, you might want to give Moore a try.
