Personally, I think theve overtaken Square in terms of well, everything.

I own Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, La Pucelle, Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom.

Currently waiting for Altier Iris and Disgaea 2.

Disgaea also is an anime in the making!!!

These are awesome (and rare!) games. Anyone else play?

Definitely, I have Disgaea, Phantom Brave,Makai Kingdom, and Atelier Iris:Eternal Mana as well. All very great and creative games with nice humor sprinkled throughout them. NIS has another game coming out (or already is out, I've been slackin, forgive me ha ha) called Chaos somethin somethin somethin, totally forgot the name, but if you've seen or heard of it, wha cha think about it? It's kinda 5:30am, so I better get back to sleep, cat woke me up. o_O See ya

I own a lot of them, but I haven't gotten the chance to play many of them. Right now I'm too busy trying to bust through Suikoden II (another great game, btw.)

I have played a NIS game that most haven't though--Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. Ahhh, なつかしい！I have great memories of playing that simple but fun game. In fact, I remember first hearing about it in Tokyopop Magazine....which is a weird coincidence.

Actually, they used to have a lot of great RPG previews in Tokyopop magazine when it still ran. I can probably thank that magazine for my interest in RPGs non-Square. I remember they had articles on cool games like Grandia, Lunar II, ToD, Polpocrois....this was back when only non-cool kids played non-FF CRPGs. :-)

well. I am extremely excited for Disgaea 2 but Generation of choas that someone asked about before. Was really bad. you have almost no control over the battle system and it seems to take forever. I lost interest before the first battle. But because it reminds me of ichi. Riveria for GBA was a really awesome RPG game. and I highly recommend it!

I'll admit I only started playing last week. My characters are in the 30s. I wish more of them had gotten last hits on those Alt Overlords. Flonne did and she jumped 15 levels. :D

I got mine off Amazon (used but new) for $49. I figured that was a decent deal and I hate ebay. :P

Yeah, I didn't see it for better on ebay before I picked it up off Amazon. My presets on amazon screwed me over tho, I paid for two day shipping and that was like half of the cost of the game. But my mistake so....

According to IGN.com, Disgaea 2 will be released this August.

I do believe that NIS also publishes the Atelier Iris games. Anyone played those?

Anyway, I own Disgaea (found the LAST copy at Fry's!), Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, and La Pucelle. Disgaea is my favorite, even though the games after it supposedly had more a few more "improvements". Whatever. Laharl is the best.

I have played Disgaea and love it!! I wish I had it though. I borrowed it from a friend and I have wanted to own it ever since. I have Makai Kingdom and like that too, but the more I play Makai Kingdom, the more I want to play Disgaea again. Riviera is a great game. I slacked on it and didn't get everything though. =P

I own disgaea, Makai kingdom and Phantom brave....I'm actually listening to "Angel Breath” which is the song played on the main screen of phantom brave. I didn't like that fact that Makai Kindom was that short, but it did have a lot of extra, so I can’t complain. I think Phantom brave was probably their longest tactic game and I did enjoy it and still play it, but not as of late. I did have La Pucelle but I didn't really like it at all and got rid of it but I’m sure I will get it again just to have it.

I think Disgaea had the best item world out of all of Nippon ichi games and I am looking forward to disgaea 2, which comes out this week in North America. I wish I had the funds to bye it but I'm sure I can guilt one of the very few relatives I talk to get it for me on account that no one got me anything for my birthday. Lately I have been leveling up on the first disgaea and I just transmigrated Etna and my archer which I turn into an angel and I even got a prinny god.

I have Disgaea (2 copies, 1 still sealed), LaPucelle Tactics, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom.
I also have Atelier Iris and Atelier Iris 2.
Disgaea 2 is on pre-order, and I'll be picking it up at the end of the week. Hurrah! ^___^

As most of you I have Rhapsody on PSOne ( I think you can still buy it for a reasonable price, it comes witha CD soundtrack, mine did anyway) Disgaea, Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom. I got into Nippon Ichi after reading a review in Edge magazine where it scored 9/10, I just love the charater design, and as another fan in this thread I couldn't resist it and bought the Disgaea and Phantom Brave art books. I'm of course very much looking to Disgaea (here in the UK we'll get it in October) and any other game from Nippon Ichi. I got Rhapsody a musical adventure last of all because I didn't even know Nippon Ichi had done games on PSOne :D

I'm not a big Nippon Ichi fan, but the few games I have played have been rather enjoyable (Disgaea, Rhapsody, Makai Kingdom).

yeah but it seems like most of the games aren't even made by them all most like they are Working designs Working designs released other companies games in america.

I mean nippon has released what 10 games in the past 3 years thats pretty amazing.

I personally dont like square soft any more, Bethesda and bioware are my new favs.

square hasn't put out anything good on its own (all there recent good games are from enix) since ff9
but nippon creates a master piece with each game they put out
and trhe tactic system always has a bunch of new stuff that can keep a battle lasting for hours

Even though the tactic games aren't that long except Phantom brave, there is always a lot left to do. I especially like how with phantom brave you could fuse some many weapons together which many even more enjoyable.

I will agree with you on the fact it is an amazing company, however, please prove to me how they have overtaken square in everything, I have yet to see a 3D game made by them, not that 2D is bad, I'm just saying you can't say they've overtaken square in everything until they make a game that has better graphics than XIII or Advent Children, or any of their recent games for that matter (cutscene only, with the exception of XIII)

and my charcters are only in the 300s :( I can't believe how many hours I put into it. Oh I know. For me on Disgaea my time is maxed out and I still play it! All my characters have transmigrated so many times I've lost count. Disgaea 2 is just as amazing. The story is very interesting. The only quirk I have is you can beat the last boss at around level 60. But that doesn't stop them from adding all these extras that make you want to level up way past 60. I own Disgaea, Phantom Brave, La Pucelle, Makai Kingdom, and Disgaea 2 now. As for Disgaea you are really lucky to get it on Amazon for $49. Almost no game stores have Disgaea anymore. That game is a very, very rare game now.
