Just for the heck of it, I'm gonna make a thread for one of my fav artists. Arina Tanemura.

Mitsuki has one year left to live, and with the help of 2 Shinigami, fulfulls her dream of becoming a singer and finding her lost love.

Shinshi Doumei Cross (the Gentleman Alliance) [4+] [current work]
Haine has worked hard to be able to be with her long time love, Shizumasa, and may have finally gotten her wish for them to be together. But what secrets does Shizumasa have?

I love Arina Tanemura! Her work is beautiful! I first learned about her when I saw some pictures of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. I'm so glad that it's finally being translated, as well as Full Moon. I'm hoping her other works come over.

The shows would be interesting to see, but there's a huge difference in the look of the characters.

I only like these two. FMwS soundtrack was great though. ^_^

But seriously, her art is gorgeus, repetitive characters aside. I love how she draws hair!

I prefer the FMwS manga for darker themes though. The anime was kind of a filler galore compared to the manga, it's like two different stories. Nevertheless, love the both!

I agree that sometimes there's repetitiveness :p Especially with her older works. And sometimes, characters look similar when expressing emotion. (I hear alot of people say that sometimes they can't tell Ushio and Haine apart when Haine's gloomy)

Yeah, they really are two different stories. Some people don't like the angsty Mitsuki in the manga. I personally don't believe in the pure innocence she has in the anime. 'sides, the backgrounds for the Shinigami really gives you a different look at them.

Full Moon book 3:
And concerning the death of Eichi, it was more of a shock factor in the manga, and more emotional in the anime. In the manga, Mitsuki had to learn how to live, having given up. In the anime, she had to find how to move on. Anime Mitsuki isn't as good as hiding her feelings like in the manga :)

In a way, you can parallel the twist in Jeanne to the one in Full Moon
Jeanne book 5:
When Fin is revealed to have been using Maron as the devil's advocate, it felt more emotional in the manga. (To me anyway.) Maron seems deeper in the manga in general. ;) I can relate to her easier than Mitsuki.

Maron and Mitsuki both cover up their sadness with courage and happiness, which is a reoccuring theme in alot of her works. Even Haine has her sadness, but I feel it gives them a more honest sense of being.

Y'know what, I feel like I'm just rambling now! :D I have no clue what I was trying to say... whoops! XD

I love her artwork. <3 It's all cute and innocent sometimes, but also very dark and angsty at times too. She's very talented. Plus, I like reading what she says in the sidebars.

She is one of my favorite artists, because her art, while often looking the same, is just too darn pretty. Though I, too, suffer from occasionally not being able to tell Haine and Usio apart. My favorite is probably FMwS, though I haven't read ION yet. I really ought to, it's short, but I'm lazy. XP

I really like the gentlemen alliance! I've been reading it in japanese and I can't get enough of it. I also really love KamiKaze Kaitou jeanne and Full moon (so sad). I've heard of time stranger Kyoko some where but I don't remember where . . . .

Agreed. I thought the one on her chapter "covers" are actually Ushio when it's actually Haine... --;;



I like it much better in the manga when Mitsuki already knew that Eichi was *restinpeaceamen* and tried to avoid reality. Especially the newspaper cutting. I felt that their relationship was much easy to symphatise with in the manga.


I wish SDC will get licensed soon! XD

I like Full Moon wo Sagashite the most overall. I like angst in stories, and I like romantic themes as well.

Full Moon wo Sagashite's plot twist in volume 3 really gave me a shock. It's been a long time since I've really been shocked at a plot. At the end of Full Moon wo Sagashite volume 5, that twist also gave me another shock.

I can't wait for the anime to come out in June... I've seen the opening theme, and I loved it. The Scanty sings I Love U well ^^
I also like comparing anime to manga. It makes me feel knowledgable =D

I love Arina Tanemura! ^__^ My favorite series by her will always be Full Moon wo Sagashite, but I also really like Shinshi Doumei Cross and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. I've seen the FMwS anime and I really like it but the manga is of course better. I'm watching the Kamikaze kaitou Jeanne anime right now (they made it a monster-of-the-day anime =.=).

Anyways I hope Time Stranger Kyoko and Shinshi Doumei Cross get licensed! ^^

I love Arina Tanemura too! I've read all of her works and my favorite by far is Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne followed by Shinshi Doumei Cross and Full Moon Wo Sagashite. I hope Shinshi doumei cross is licensed in America soon!

I have no respect for Tanemura because of the way she develops her romance, but she wrote my favorite series, and many more that im crazy about.

I just think she needs to make more realistic romance instead of "main guy falls randomly for main girl, main girl has at least two guys that like her, but goes with the main guy anyway, then the leftover character female and male get together"

On the other hand, I love her art..and characters T_T

I like Arina Tanemura's work. My favorite shows are Fullmoon Wo Sagashite. when I watched the first episode, I was, like, completely obsessed over the show xD I read the manga too. Can't wait for volume 6 to come out. I also like Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. I've seen all episodes, but meh haven't read the manga yet. T.T I must get it! o.o

I have only read Time Stranger Kyoko. It's not long, which is nice for a change, it's funny and there is so many characters I love! The King and Widseek are so funny! And I really like Sakataki and Hitsuki also. But it's kind of irritating how all the characters look alike so much, sometimes you can't tell who is who.

Arina Tanemura had intended Time Stranger Kyoko to be 6 volumes long but Ribon forced her to end it so that she could start Full Moon wo Sagashite. I guess TSK wasn't as popular as her other titles...oh well its still good though.

I wuv Arina Tanemura. =3 She's my FAVORITE. And unfortunatly, I've only read one of her works... Waah. I'm broke, so I have no money to buy her work. But I'm currently hooked on FullMoon Wo Sagashite! Yaay! But my FAVORITE pairing in there is IzumixMeroko. :D I know, normal. But... I just love it. They're so cute together. And the situation they're in... It's so cute. =3 But the eyes ARE huge. I attempted to draw her anime style eyes and it looked like some kind of demented circle. Shading... IT BURNS. -ahem- But anyhow. I have up to the third volume.

T_T they're both sad yet happy because they try so hard and then all that misfortune befalls them T_T the art of shinshi doumei cross is just so pretty!!!! horayy for pretty fluffiness!!! Very cool, I really like her work. The art is nice, and the characters, although typical of a shoujo manga, are pretty diverse.

I absolutely adore Arina Tanemura's books! I just recently bought the final volume of FMoS (the ending is sooo sweet! :'D )and I started reading the Kaitou Jeanne manga (I watched the anime first...). I can't wait for her newest series to come out. I would love to draw anatomy the way she does, especially hands and feet. Hair, too. Can't forget the hair. ^^l/,,

I love Tanemura-sensei too! She is my fave manga-ka!

However, I like the art in Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne and Ful Moon O Sagashite better then the art in The Gentlemens Alliance Cross.
I don't think her art is repetitive...............it rocks!!!!!!:p
