inquiry to the pro's

the process of making a manga. what is it exactly? from my understanding what happends is you make sketches/storyboards etc. then you plan out each page, then you make a rough copy of each box, then you make a better copy of that on a full piece of paper, scan it into your computer, scan all the other semi-finished papers into the scanner then pull it all together in 1 or more programs, touch it up, add text to the text box's and vu'ala? sorry if im completly wrong and it sounds dumb, but i am curious.:o
