okay...i always dreamed of makeing something for RSOM copition....but....i have no skills with toneing and i don't have my own computer....(i use libary coms all the time)

the deal is.....i have no idea on useing screentones....nor the money to buy them....

so my question is do i have to use screen tones to tone the manga pages....or can i use some pencil toing via. useing diffent types of pencils...like H2, B4 and that like....or do i have to use pen tewcneques such as crosshach and such......
i really wanna know becuse sadly that little detail is what's been holding me back from entering....

Look at the previous people who placed in RSOM. See what techniques they used. Not everyone used toning.

Like Klawzie said, look at past winners. If your inking is heavy enough (like the 6th place winner in RSoM 4) then you don't even need extra shading. Or you could always shade with pen, like Sarah Ferrick, 7th place winner in RSoM 3. Both types of inking are difficult to master, but well worth being able to perform. I'd go with the type of inking style that would best fit your story.

Don't feel bad. My computer is a fossil and I couldn't tone anything if I tried... ><;; i'm computer-stupid. I also don't know where in the heck to find tones...art stores...? been there, don't have em.^.^;
