Warning: This story contains anthros/furries. I know some people rather loathe them so just telling you now before I scar your eyes ~.^

Anyways.. This is a story I've been developing on and off, kind of for fun.

Premise: The German and the Jew. Two childhood friends/sweethearts are seperated by the increasing conflict of WWII. Yet they long to see each other again. One fateful day, their wish is granted, only they're on opposite sides of the war. Will they throw down their arms and embrace each other or will they cave to social pressures?

Some sketches of the girl (sorry, I can't find the ones of the guy XD;)

About a year ago, I had to pencil three comic pages for a storyboarding class, so this is what I came up with. No text sorry.

And a year later (wow time flies) I reworked the pages. I think I've improved alot but of course have lot more to learn. For one thing, text and wordballoons pwn me.

1.I had some fun trying to make these look like old photos :3 The sepia is just for kicks. These are all pencils with tones put on in photoshop. I didn't have time to ink them yet.

That's all I have for now. I'm inclined to explain alot of my thoughts on the story.. along with alot of the deeper meanings/messages. For example the title. I thought long and hard on that one lol. But I think I won't and let you draw your own conclusions.

I have, I think... 13 pages thumbnailed out in total. But these are the only ones completelly drawn out and ready to ink. And thanks :3

...you do know that women weren't allowed to do much more than... breed, let alone -fight-, during the third reich? Their medals came from bearing lots of children, not from hunting down the jewish.

You may want to reread Maus & Maus 2 before making a furry version of the war as well, just because that's going to be what anyone immediately thinks of.

I like the sepia toning best, personally.

I'm well aware. Though they did do more than just breed. Several positions beyond nurses and secretaries. They had to because there wasn't enough man power. Of course that doesn't mean Hitler liked the idea.. But yes, a woman never would have been in the SS, especially not a combat unit. But I'm not going for complete historical accuracy here. Her uniform isn't accurate either, though it's close. I took artistic liberties in both story and design.

I've read Maus. And I'm not going for anything like that at all. This is more of a romantic tragedy in, of course, a historicalish setting (Like the most recent Pearl Harbor movie and Titanic.). Everybody does tell me about Maus, but I don't really think it factors into how I want to portray my characters.
