Has anyone ever heard of this?
I have.
Goong/Palace, My Girl, and Full House manhwas have been turned into dramas! I have watched all three.
Suprisingly, they closely follow the manhwa series.

The manga Nana, from the author of Paradise Kiss [ Ai Yazawa ], has also been turned into a drama AND an anime.
Well, it's in a working progress. They are busily drawing and animating right now ^__^

I think the actors for all these dramas were well-chosen. Especially Mika Nakashima for the role of Nana. She's almost Nana herself when you read her biography :]

What others what you heard of?

I loved the Peach Girl TV show, but my sister didn't like how it wasn't as funny as the manga. I think I actually liked it BETTER than the manga! It was a fun show.

There was a Peach Girl one? Hm. I didn't know that! ;)
haha

Ohh. I also forgot to mention It Started With a Kiss.
There are two versions of this. The original was the Japanese drama, and the remake is the Taiwanese one which was done very currently.

Kimi wa Petto (a.k.a. Tramps Like Us) was made into a J-dorama.
Initial D was made into a Chinese live action movie. Not really drama, I know, but it's something ^^
